I have to preface this post by stating that I'm a big fan of the first #Avatar movie. Even if it wasn't great on dialogue, the feelings, the music, the outstanding graphics, the immersion... I love it both in 3D and 2D. I saw it multiple times and I like to watch it again every now and then. But the sequel...#thewayofwater has none of that except the graphics and thar alone isn't enough to sell me a movie so I didn't finish watching it. Not recommended. #movies

The continuation of the story is consistent and family-friendly, but the "rehashing" of the antagonist Quaritch seemed a bit dull to me.
In the next part, there is supposed to be a confrontation with another Na'vi people, which, according to Cameron, is supposed to show the Na'vi in a more differentiated way.

Es ist ewig her, seit ich #Avatar gesehen habe, aber ich dachte mir, ich nutze mein #DisneyPlus Abo, um mir #TheWayOfWater anzuschauen. Die Unterwasserumgebungen sind auf jeden Fall atemberaubend, auch wenn in einigen Shots das #CGI etwas billig aussieht. Und obwohl ich die Botschaft über die Ausbeutung der Natur und fremder Völker weiterhin wichtig finde, wirkt die Story insgesamt etwas einseitig und flach.

Finished #Avatar #TheWayofWater with my wife last night— first time watching it since the theater last year. Still a much more gripping film than the first, with emotional depth the first lacked. Still wrestling with the idea that it might be one of my favorite films of all-time; don't want the hype to sweep me away.
