Le mois dernier, une vague d’utilisateurs de TikTok a afflué vers Rednote (小红书) pendant sa brève interdiction aux États-Unis, se regroupant sous le hashtag #TikTokRefugee. La plateforme chinoise de réseau social s’est ensuite hissée en tête des classements des applications mobiles aux États-Unis, et les utilisateurs de Rednote, principalement sinophones et basés en Chine, ont accueilli leurs visiteurs étrangers. Comme le souligne le dernier épisode du podcast 新新人类 Pixel Perfect, ce fut un moment très inattendu, car les entreprises chinoises créent généralement des applications distinctes pour le public national et international (...). Ainsi, ceux d'entre nous qui ont ouvert Rednote au cours de cette semaine fatidique ont pu assister à un moment rare où les utilisateurs américains ont été accueillis sur l’Internet chinois et ont reçu une leçon publique sur ce qu’il faut faire ou ne pas faire là-bas.
