#TodayIMissed ... I don’t think anything has made me miss #Japan as much as seeing a #Document72Hours episode about a 24-hour #laundromat. Once a week we’d trudge to a laundromat in #Fukuoka to do our laundry. It was a half-block from a #konbini, so once our machines were running, we’d go get some coffee and a snack. Then we’d read or chat while we waited. Seems rather mundane but I’d give anything to be back there again. #NHK

#TodayIMissed ... Japanese hotel breakfasts. The breakfast in this #HolidayInn is both burned and tepid.

Nothing wrong with #RingerHut food, but it wasn't high on my list of favorite places to eat while in #Japan. But I guess #TodayIMissed it ... had to learn to make my own version of #NagasakiSaraUdon. lol #長崎皿うどん #リンガーハット

#TodayIMissed ... the big shopping mall just north of Tenjin station in #Fukuoka. A retail wonderland!

#TodayIMissed ... the little "teabags" of coffee I got from #DonQuijote for about ¥500 for 15 or so bags. Now of course I can brew perfectly good coffee here--it's the little ritual I miss: opening the foil pack, tearing open the top of the teabag, placing it on the rim of the coffee cup, and pouring the water from the #Tfal kettle. ☕ #Japan

#TodayIMissed ... the little panty hose thing you put in your kitchen sink to keep scraps of food from washing down the drain. It was a bit of a pain to clean, but better than having to worry about maintaining a disposal unit or dealing with clogs. #Japan

#TodayIMissed ... the ease of finding breakfast. For a town that thrives on coffee, there aren't very many places open in #Portland for breakfast *at* breakfast time! If you go down any alley in a big city in #Japan, you're bound to find tiny ma-and-pa places that will do a simple breakfast set for cheap. There's also no shortage of coffee places offering sets like Seattle or Komeda, and if you're really desperate you can go to #Joyfull!

#TodayIMissed ... #AjiFurai #鯵フライ especially if they included a #shiso leaf. The #Lawson at the south end of #Tenchika in #Fukuoka had decent ones for cheap. #Japan
