Extinction Rebellion may have gone quiet, but climate protest will come roaring back | Oliver Haynes - theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

Yes....I noticed that too. You know there were many loud people and projects for the past decade or so. Some protesting, some proposing radical alternatives to this so called "capitalist" society. Meaning this trade-based society. They are all kinda gone now...

I am one of them. Since 2011 I scream and scream and scream. And do all sorts of projects.

But the truth is that we are like trying to grow a crop in the middle of Times Square. There is no fertile soil, only concrete and people trying to stop you doing it.

There is no help for me to create and maintain the so many projects I do. There is no support for the so many good-willing people out there who want to protect nature, do good deeds, amazing projects, open source, and so on. NOTHING.

We have to fend for ourselves - to find ways to trade and stay alive, while doing these things. There is no way forward like that.

We are bound to perish.

I keep on surviving, surprisingly enough, with more projects than I started in 2011. But my reach is hundreds of times less than it was in 2011. I have to trade at times to make some money, I have to stress over not having enough to make it, I have to do a ton of work that should be done by 10 people normally.

The financial support is bleeding out, the interest I feel is not even present that much.

It all sounds very pessimistic but it is the truth. However I am still not giving up. I have new ideas and approaches.

And I know there are MANY MANY people out there who still keep the flame of revolting and activism alive, and all they need is a bit of fertile soil to thrive. But to get that fertile soil, the help, is really hard. And perhaps that is where the focus should be.

Maybe TROM will start to focus on that bit...

Will see.

If you are one of us, don't despair. You are for sure not alone. Maybe new projects and forms of activism will arise out of the stagnant frustration and anger that so many have layered within.

A system in which its members cannot even have the time and means to protest or propose/work on alternatives, is an abusive system. It only wants for "it" to survive, as it is the only way for its members to stay afloat. Therefore humans have to trade in the trade system, to survive. That is the forced incentive. Anything else can only temporarily survive.

The trade game has to go.

STEPS:

  1. Provide the basic needs as trade-free: healthcare, education, communication, food, shelter, etc..
  2. Provide a Universal Basic Income to everyone, no strings attached.

This is how we allow people to focus on what they see as important. To have time to get informed and inform others. To get involved, to help, to thrive.

Nothing else will work!

FIRST: HELP THE PEOPLE!

Want the best proof that this trade-based society needs to change and cannot be "fixed"?

Global recycling rates have fallen for eighth year running, report finds - theguardian.com/environment/20…

Only 6.9% of the 106bn tonnes of materials used annually by the global economy came from recycled sources, a 2.2 percentage point drop since 2015, researchers from the Circle Economy thinktank found.

The problem is systemic, they say: the rise in consumption is even more rapid than the growth in global population, and although some companies are increasing the amount of recycled material they use, the majority ignore the issue with no apparent penalties. This means that societies generate more waste than recycling systems can handle.

Even if all recyclable goods were recycled, which is unlikely as many goods are simply too difficult or costly to recycle, global recycling rates would only reach 25%, meaning that consumption must be slashed in order to tackle a growing global waste crisis.

Yah....so recycling is not not solution let us be serious.

The solution?

People and the society needs to change radically but in simple steps.

1. Make the basic needs trade-free. Healthcare, transportation, housing if possible, access to Internet, basic food, etc.. Do it via taxes or whatever you prefer.

2. Give people a Universal Basic Income without strings attached so when some essential service cannot be provided as trade-free, such as housing or food, people can still "trade" for it. You can get the money for this UBI again via taxes, via ending all sorts of unemployment and benefits programs, and so forth.

This way you can have a chance of creating a society where people are not consumers, but humans. So that these humans have the time and mental ability to focus on relevant stuff and not just consume. To volunteer, discover, create, become smarter and saner.

This is the way!

And exactly as I thought instead of education and simplifying workflows purposes these companies' "AI's" will be used to generate a "better" ads experience for you. Absolutely disgusting.

While they are still available use the Ad Blockers or FreeTube App if you want to see more sane and adequate ytb like it used to be long time ago.

Avicii – Im Tim videoneat.com/documentaries/26…

A documentary that showcases how "fame" makes you a bigger trading tool for other companies. In this society you are an asset. Big or small. That pressure made this guy kill himself.

Like he was saying in the documentary to be free does not mean to have money or be a celebrity, it is to have the time to do what you love, without anyone telling you what to do.

We should all experience such a life...unfortunately i this trade society things are backwards.

How you can try to fix this world, realistically.

Maybe you can start it first per tribe, then expand globally.

Goal: humans should not have to trade in order to survive in this society. Since this creates a tsunami of problems for people and the rest of this planet. (source)

Plan:

Basic needs trade-free.

Make the most basic needs services trade-free. Healthcare, transportation, shelter, basic food, access to Internet (information and communication). You can do that through taxes, through volunteers, through all sort of means. Many tribes already provide some of these as trade-free, like in Europe a lot of the healthcare systems are like that. Not difficult!

Basic Income.

Since this world still relies on trades (money), and people may have different sort of needs and definitely wants, give everyone a basic income (say 1.000 dollars a month) with no strings attached. You can do it again through taxes, via the removal of so many institutions and resources dedicated to track people and check if they are eligible for benefits, and all of the paperwork nonsense that has been created around this. No more "benefits", no more "pensions". Forget about labeling people as employed or unemployed in regards to who should be helped.

That is it!

Now you will have a bunch of humans who KNOW they are taken care of. They KNOW that if they get sick they should only worry about that health problem and not a financial problem. They KNOW that they wont starve or end up on the street. They know they are SAFE.

On top of this, with the money you give them monthly, they can have some power and focus on doing some useful things in this society. At least some will, if not many.

This can grow up over time into a saner society of humans who can refuse to work for bullshit companies, or do any bullshit jobs. A world in which humans have the time to decide what to focus on, who to "vote" for, stay informed and properly inform others.

A world where scientists or journalists should not worry about their livelihood. So they can do their "jobs" properly.

We deserve and need this world. Else there is no intelligent species on this planet.

DNA testing site 23andMe files for bankruptcy protection - bbc.com/news/articles/c9q4r9xy…

Of course...a bullshit company, like most companies, providing nothing useful for the people and now even putting their personal information (and DNA) at risk. Because you know, other company may buy it and who knows what it does with the data. I have been saying that since the beginning when everyone was so excited about this useless company.

To read the DNA for useful purposes should be the job of entities that do not make a business out of it, but take care of people´s health. This nonsense of "see where you ancestors are from" "see if you are fucking irish or a goblin", is so useless even if accurate, which may not even be.

Anyway, another story of nonsense companies that make people give them their data to then fuck up this information for everyone.

How we Made a Global Impact in One Day - videos.trom.tf/w/hHmEdTrtS7Pwq… by @sober_pirate

This system of trade incentivizes more people to waste plastic and pollute, than use it wisely or cleanup like these people do. Ultimately we need to deal with this bad and global incentive because the balance is tilted in the wrong way.

The people are being consumed by the so called "free" entertainment.

But it is not "free". It is dumb and trade-based. TikTok, Facebook, Youtube, Twitter and so forth mandate that you give them your data and attention (watch ads) in order to use their platforms. In return they give you access to a ton of dumbed down content.

Trading stupidity is much easier than trading well made content. Therefore stupidity evolves faster in a trade-based society.

To make a good researched video can take months, to make a dumbed down one can take minutes. To write a good book about real and important things, and research for it, takes months or years. To write bullshit fictional stories takes a lot less. Music, movies, articles, they are all under the influence of trade, allowing simplistic content to thrive while good one to barely breath.

It is this trade based society to be blamed for the vast majority of the destruction, suffering and idiocy we see worldwide.

Two things scare me the most....

Two things scare me the most, personally. First is death or health related issues. It is normal, if I die I'm fucked for eternity :). I think this is easy to understand for many people.

Second thing that scares me so much is to slip back into the fantasy world that humans created and forget about the amazing reality discovered for the past hundreds of years. To become too normal, even if that can mean to laugh, have fun, enjoy. I am scared of this. I battled this for all of my life trying to inject myself with reality bits and info (atoms, galaxies, evolution, stars and everything real) in the hope that my brain can understand the value of reality. It is hard. It is so hard and it is something I feel not many, if any, understand. It is also something that you can lose very fast, when you "get it".

I wanted to put a printed Hubble image of the Andromeda galaxy on the ceiling in my room when I was in college so that when I wake up it will remind me of how reality is mind blowing and the human invented one is a simplistic, myopic and colorless at best.

Most humans are today as they were 400, 1.000 , or more years ago. Let's have a beer, a chat, get married, fuck, have kids, gossip, have fun or war. Not saying some of these are not good or reasonable, but isn't it mindblowing that not much has changed in the core of our global society and the day to day life of humans for the past 400 years considering in this time we discovered cells, atoms, galaxies, evolution, and everything in between?

To me, this is so odd it creates a turmoil in my head. I think I have an explanation why this is the case tho: an aggressive trade-based society where everyone is a working ant. No time to even know about reality, let alone absorb it.

Reality is shocking, mind-blowing, fabulous, scary, infinitely complex and amazing.
Day to day life in this society is simplistic and almost parallel to reality.

If you don't fee like losing your mind when you think about this contrast, I don't think you understand.

Could a £2-a-day basic income be the key to protecting rainforests? theguardian.com/environment/ar…

Well, of course that if you are poor you'll cut down trees to trade for some food! Everyone should be helped. A basic income without any strings attached is the most basic thing humans can provide now, for everyone!

We need to decouple people from this trade-based society!

Politics, a cringe show. And USA has the most popular of the shows.

Empty words, rich people, a cult of following. Nothing changes: most people have to trade their lives to survive (work), the rich are getting richer, inequality on the rise, the destruction of nature is flourishing. More idiots, more stupidity, shittier and fake lives.

Planet Trade. Welcome. Very predictable. Enjoy the show, slurp the fantasies.

Yeah, no....this is too fucking hot. You can feel a hot breeze of air outside as if the earth turned on the oven.

This is how streets look like in a small town while cloudy:

Imagine that most big cities are way worse and way hotter. Also imagine that instead of cars we had trees. It would make a massive difference. But our society is not built for humans, it is built for cars, stuff to consume, etc..

We know how to deal with the climate change, we know how to design better cities and create a paradise on earth for everyone. But there is no incentive to do so in a society where trade is the main driving force.

Friday I have the driving exam. I started in December last year...I payed1.620 Euros so far. It has been a terrible experience. You know when I tell people that this was insanity, they think that "well you have to learn how to drive...it is of course difficult." and I want to punch them in the face. I would love for them to experience what we experience here. Because this is not your normal "driving school". This is the torture school that most people fail from the first time. And it is no wonder why.

Anyway, I gathered lots of info and videos ;), and I'll make an article/video about it all. I do not think that I can pass this exam, but I know some parts of Spain where you go and likely pass it - much easier than here.

At this point I, and the rest of the students, know how to drive safer than most drivers that we see drive alongside us, since no one here uses the blinkers, no one stops at the stop signs, everyone drives over the straight lines.... So it is a matter of being lucky to pass the exam. For the examiner to be in a good mood, for the route that they choose for you, traffic, etc..

I know students who tried to pass the exam 4 times by now, others gave the fuck up despite having 20+ years of driving experience.

So let's see. Lucky or not lucky.

But it is so frustrating to see what the "most intelligent species in the universe" have done with their BS society. If they wanted to teach their kind to drive these boxes on wheels, they would have done it entirely differently than how they do it today. But this is not the incentive. They want to make money. Trade. And thus jobs, and thus bullshit practices and methods. And so a bullshit society of traders.

Ok, rant done haha. I have 2 more hours of practice tomorrow, then the day after I want for this to end somehow even if I fail the exam, which most likely will. I will go somewhere else to do the exam if I fail, I think that's the best approach. Enough time and money wasted here.

The Grab - videoneat.com/documentaries/26…

Watch this documentary to see how governments and companies go after buying Earth resources from other tribes, in all sorts of terrible ways. From arable land to water. In a crazy race to get enough for their own tribe because of the impacts of climate change that will devastate vast areas on this planet.

This terrible mentality of trying to survive and thrive at the expense of the rest, as if we are not living on the same planet. Same spaceship.

Very telling documentary. Some 10 years in the making.
