Vandaag reden we heel wat kilometers, een echte #TravelThursday dus. We moesten namelijk helaas weer op huis aan, want ook al wordt er gestaakt bij de werkgever, partnerlief staat wel weer op het rooster.

Inmiddels zijn we dus weer veilig thuis en denken we met weemoed terug aan onze vakantie. Mag het al... #ThrowbackThursday als je net 2 uur thuis bent...?

The Pixie Parasol (Mycena interrupta) in Mount Macedon is a tiny, bright blue mushroom that looks straight out of a fairytale. Found in the cool, damp forests during autumn and winter, it grows on mossy logs and leaf litter. Its vibrant color stands out in the misty, fern-filled forest, making it a magical find for nature lovers and photographers.

"Graufiltern" ist synonym mit "die Geduld meiner Frau stapazieren". Sie ist ja sonst angetan von meiner Fotografierei, unterstützt mich und es stört sie nicht, unterwegs ständig anzuhalten, die Gegend anzuschauen und ein paar Fotos zu schiessen. Wenn ich dann allerdings das Stativ installiere, Graufilter montiere und jede Belichtung ihre Zeit dauert, wird sie schon mal etwas unruhig ...

Proud Ruins

3 miles (4.8 km) south-east of #Edinburgh city centre, on a low hill in the south of the suburb of Craigmillar, sits one of #Scotland's best-preserved medieval castles.

Craigmillar Castle is known for its association with Mary, Queen of #Scots. Following an illness after the birth of her child, the future James VI, Mary arrived at Craigmillar in 1566 to convalesce.

A combination #ThrowBackThursday and #TravelThursday post looking back to 2008 and a visit to the Summer Palace in Beijing during our pre-cruise honeymoon stay in China. This is the 18th century Jade Belt Bridge on Kunming Lake, designed to resemble southern Chinese countryside bridges but with an exaggerated height to allow the Qianlong Emperor's boat to pass under.

A portrait shot. An evening view on a cool, flat, dark green lake. The sky is pale blue, largely covered by light grey clouds, their undersides lit gently from the low sun somewhere out of sight. Across the rippled water's surface we're looking towards a low stone bank lined with trees, thin-trunked but with masses of leaves in dark greens, olive greens, and red-greens that suggest autumn. A marble bridge connects the stone banks and is our main focus. It has a single arch but it's very high in the centre compared to the overall length of the structure. Stone railings on the bridge's span are either side of a narrow space for pedestrians to cross the bridge although it's a steep climb either side. It's very quiet, peaceful, relaxing, with a small chill in the air as the day's warmth disappears.
