So another "rapture" has come and gone.

I wrote "Heaven on This Earth" after one of these "raptures" (that didn't happen either) to point out that we best take care of the world we have here and now instead of hoping for some celestial paradise.

Too many religious types don't care for this world, this planet because they're so sure they get to go elsewhere.

Instead of rolling up their sleeves to help us make our world a better place -- the one and only world we will ever know -- they opt to live in an escapist fantasy.
