@Taskerland I ran #CthulhuDark two times and it was a blast - wanted me to never return to horror #ttrpgs featuring long skill lists. For me, the dark fantasy / horror-themed game #TrophyGold occupies just the right spot between rules-lite and campaign-able plus its mechanics include Cthulhu Dark „DNA“ inherited via Trophy Dark. When it comes to modern horror, my game of choice would be #LiminalHorror these days.

@konahart love me some #TrophyGold I mostly #osr style games, but i need a 10% share of storygaming for a fulfilling #ttrpg life I guess and Trophy (which also features osr elements) creates super atmospheric narratives if everyone is on board for the dark fantasy / horror tropes (I absolutely crave). I reckon I owe some my best ttrpg moments to Trophy. What a majestic achievement this game is. Never played Trophy in campaign mode though. Wonder how this might work out?
Been playing Trophy Gold with my in-person group lately, and I've been *loving* it, far far more than I expected to. I've never been a long-term campaign person, but I could honestly see myself playing a year long campaign of this

Samstag hab ich zum ersten Mal Trophy Gold geleitet. Ich war mir etwas unsicher, wie ich als SL mit dem OSR - Story Game Mash Up zurecht komme, aber das Spiel hat sich wie von alleine gespielt. Ich bin sehr begeistert.
Der core Loop der aus den Hunt Rolls entsteht ist sehr eingänglich und treibt die Geschichte gut voran.
Das Kampfsystem von TG hab ich als Spieler schon geliebt, und ist mMn eines der besten da draußen.
Ich werde das bestimmt nochmal leiten.

So, das war doch ein netter #Spielenachmittag im #SpecOps in #Münster : ein Tisch mit #MarvelChampions und ein Tisch mit #TTRPG, nämlich #TrophyGold . Das Treffen findet an jedem 3. Sonntag statt. Man sieht sich :)
Ich will demnächst mal ein paar Online One-Shot Runden in Düsteren Fantasy-Wäldern drehen und schmökere deshalb in #TrophyGold. Ich mag das System und habe bisher nur schöne Sessions damit gehabt.
@masukomi Trophy Gold has a downtime phase called "Hearthfire" that occurs between scenarios when you go back to town. All of the downtime actions also include story-prompts where you narrate parts of your backstory in flashback or show aspects of your life that aren't related to adventuring. I think it works really well.
@jesseross @HeyeBodo it is. There is this small corpus of modules, I like to run again and again, because they are somehow etched in my imagination. The Black Wyrm of Brandonsford, Hester‘s Mill for #TrophyGold and #DeadPlanet for #mothershiprpg I find myself thinking about how this modules might play out differently, and generate different outcomes and stories. And they always do

- less rolls = quicker game. Many #nsr games skip to hit-rolls for example. Speeds game up a lot.
- investigative procedures: tell players, when there are no more things to find out in location X/by interrogating NPCs Y (reference: #gumshoe games)
- choose games, which offer quick/decisive task resolution systems for combat (e.g. #TrophyGold)
- rpg-heavy activities of individual PCs (fun) can be played out 1:1 after (!) the regular game session via chat or email 2/2
@HeyeBodo #TrophyDark (Oder wars doch #TrophyGold?) hab ich tatsächlich schon im September mit @nisjasper als SL ausprobieren dürfen und hatte viel Spaß. Ich mag ja so Abenteuer ohne Happy End durchaus (ursprünglich laaange #Cthulhu gespielt - ist ja auch nicht großartig was anderes).
@Morgunin @nisjasper ich finde #TrophyGold zeigt das ganz gut auf. Gold als Abstraktion für das Ziel, dass die Figur erreichen möchte und das kann alles sein. Ich seh in unserer SD Runde ja auch schon, wie die Spieler*innen ihre eigenen Motivationen stricken: findet die verschollene Halbork-Hexe, Intrige gegen einen lokalen Adligen etc. Das finde ich spannend. Aber Geschmacksache, klar. In meiner Planescape Runfe spiele ich SD mit Milestone XP (😨) geht auch 2/2
@nisjasper schön 😻 #TrophyGold ist eines meiner Lieblingsspiele of all times. Wirklich alles daran. Ich habe dieses Jahr gemerkt, dass #Adnd 1st ed für mich ein Spiel ist, dass immer noch rockt und dass ich jederzeit spielen würde
@HeyeBodo ich habe #trophygold gespielt, mal wieder fertige Module geleitet (#wintersdaughter und #wakingofwillowbyhall), #dsa1 neu bespielt und sehr viele klassische Module #adandd gelesen. Ich befinde mich in der Vorbereitung für ein summer of love-Mystery-Ding und mit #valland klappts bestimmt auch mal. Habe auch im Blog einiges online gestellt. Ach, und #Mausritter mit Kindern. Ein gutes Jahr!
Does anyone know if Jason Cordova, Jesse Ross or someone else from #TheGauntlet ever published an essay/blogpost/thread on converting OSR modules into incursions for #Trophy #TrophyGold ?
Jason runs OSR adventures in Trophy Gold regularily so I assume there must be something written or recorded somewhere.
