Nichest of niches, but after years on the waiting list, I was finally able to place an order for a NuEvi electronic valve instrument midi controller :).
If there are any current or former #brass / #trumpet players on here who have a love hate relationship with their instruments due to their demands on their lips, I can really recommend giving a wind controller a try (the NuEvi is the Rolls Royce, I've had fun with the Sylphyo for a while now). Side effects might be that you get into #eurorack at some point, which is definitely dangereous ;).

Oskar just released his wonderful new album Meeting Point, with his band Press, Rec & Play (with PieterJan Cramer van den Bogaart, Arjan Ettes en Sander Panhuysen). For this album I recorders a bunch of trumpet stuff (if you want my trumpet on your recording, send me a DM).
There’s a release show at Midwest, Amsterdam on Feb 20th, and two warm up concerts at De Nieuwe Anita on Feb 10 and Concerto Recordstore on Feb 13, which I’ll join.

Trumpet update: I've now had three lessons, and yesterday my teacher also gave me the book he used to use for beginners, and it's super. I can play whole notes from the A below middle-C and up to the C above middle-C.
Yesterday I learnt B-flat.
Teacher: So now you know your first flat!
Me: Yes! And it's B-flat, which is my favourite flat.
Teacher: ...is it?
It then occurred to me that not everyone has favourite flats? Surely that's not the case!

Meh, I really hate #Running later than 11 am. But it was a really full morning, playing the #trumpet for ~3 hours, conducting, whirring around and tending to stuff. So there was no other way. And it had *one* upside: No spikes, what a relief (which is not to say I don’t love my EXOspikes, but running without them because there‘s not that much ice anymore, well, has its own benefits). I had company: THE LAST COLONY by the one and only #JohnScalzi. Great, as it is each time! #applewatchultra3
