GRRRRR. Stupid #Intuit. One day I'll decide to go with a less evil company but I needed the simplicity of having used #TurboTax before to just repeat things. But they just did to me what I so often hear complaints about—unwittingly tried to auto dump me into the Premium product instead of just Deluxe. (I can't do free file due to having to file Schedule C). #Evil

Found an extra $4k in interest that I didn't include in my initial draft of my 2024 #IncomeTax returns.

Some how corrupted the 2024 version of #TurboTax on my laptop before I could revise the draft.🤦

Trying to fix & reinstall the program now.

I don't know but wouldn't you think having bought TurboTax, efiled through TurboTax tell Inuit that they don't need to send me a weekly email to buy the desktop version of TurboTax that I already bought, used, and am done?

Just finished entering all of the 1099 & other financial data into #TurboTax for a preliminary estimate of the #IncomeTaxes that I have to pay for 2024.

It was about what I expected. Just have to do a final check around April 1st & prep for mailing on April 15th.

I finally received all of the docs that I need to file my 2024 Federal & State income tax returns but I always owe money & never file until the deadline which is usually April 15 which also around the time that I have to pay the 2nd half of my 2024-2026 #PropertyTaxes.

My tax return isn't so complicated that I need to hire an accountant. I've used #TurboTax to prepare & file my tax returns for over 40 years but complicated enough that I can't file online and always submit my returns by mail.

Even so, I just discovered the new IRS "pin" program & will be applying for one before I file my Federal return this year.

This also is the 1st year that TurboTax is not providing a CD backup disc with their program. It's now download only but I'm going to be downloading it to a USB flash drive along w/a copy of the return as filed to include w/the paper copy of the return that I always keep on file.

Sorry, there are some habits that I can't break & I keep paper copies of EVERYTHING!!!🤷‍♂️

@ProPublica I started the process last Friday, but the second I mentioned HSA, it said, sorry, you have to upgrade to one of our premium plans. Sorry, I just closed out. I will go do it at my local library for free. #tax #Turbotax

Need to file taxes, soon. I've been using #TurboTax (Deluxe) most of my tax-filing life. #Intuit's fucking scummy as hell, so, thought I'd see what my other options were. #H&RBlock isn't any cheaper than TT, plus, they're probably no less scummy than Intuit is.

I prefer something that runs local to my desktop/laptop, allows me to file both state and federal and will deal properly with my brokerage accounts and the like. Anyone got #recommendations for such #TaxSoftware?
