The main focus for today was the landing page, bugs, and tech debt. I also prepared some documentation about services and the connections between the architecture overview.
I hope to receive some approvals in the next few days and finally launch.

This reminds me of another old #UX myth: the 3-click rule.
So, it’s always good to dig into UX/UI design history: Why were those rules conceived? What did interfaces look like at that time? What problems were they meant to solve? And why did we move away from them? At worst, it still leads to a deeper understanding and general knowledge gain.

English speakers of the fedi. In a software with the interface in English, Reading a menu with verbs such as Save, Open, Close, Edit, Format etc., do you read them as imperative (an order: "do this") or as an infinitive (the "base form" of the verb, like "to do this")?

A bit of a change in environment, a few hours worked from a cafe shop, time moved so fast, fixed a few bugs, and improved UI with information about using AI features.
It was a good experience, I would definitely repeat it.

While I am #software #dev saavy, am not a #ui / #ux pro.
But to my mind if you have a control, that one might normally expect to see somewhere, that can be disabled by some global or scoped restriction or in this case a #Windows #domain/group #policy... DONT HIDE THE FUCKING THING.
Show the button in the same place, but disabled. And if you mouse over if it says "Disabled by <setting>" or "Restricted by group policy <name of policy>".
