I see that the new (2024) #LawAndOrder set in #Toronto is coming to #UKTelly .

#FBIInternational, with its not only erroneous but downright insulting portrayal of pretty much all European people in the show has made me expect that #DickWolf will also make a right pig's ear of Canadians and Canadian jurisprudence. And the U.K. version of Law And Order was risible in getting the U.K. very wrong, thinking that it works like the U.S.A..

They'll have Crown attorneys carrying guns, or fake jurisdictional fights over crimes that are always handled by the provinces, or the wrong ranks, or a D.S. doing the work of a special, or United Statian notions of civil rights, or the police negotiating plea bargains, … or something.

I'm not going to bother with it.

I am less than a quarter of an hour into the new episode of #DeathInParadise and wondering whether the old formula still holds. If it does, the murderer is going to be the woman completely ignored after the initial few minutes, who was not even interviewed.

One can pretty much sleep through the middle of Death In Paradise and still know who did it, as it has always been the person downplayed or entirely forgotten after the opening scenes.

We shall see.

But no, this week we are joined by a Bangladeshi YouTube channel. It says that it's a U.K. telly channel, but there's no indication of it being broadcast anywhere, and it's not in OfCom's licensee lists that I can find.

So let me instead suggest Vagrant Queen. That was just begging for a 2nd season that headed off in an entirely new direction.

Interestingly, I cannot think of many #UKTelly examples. More Anna Lee (detective series on ITV from the 1990s) might have been nice.
