Under UV light, a dandelion clock becomes an otherworldly flower. A sharp blue glow shines from the tip of each seed (pappus), creating a shining ball of 'stars'. Down at the base, the structure of the seedhead is revealed in mottled, glowing blue accented in black. Looking closely, the hairs of each seeds gleam faintly in the light reflected from the tips and the parent seedhead, adding a feathery texture to the photograph.The dandelion seeds have just begun to shed. A few seeds appear to be caught in mid-tumble toward the ground. At the lower-left of the photograph, the curved rim of the glass that hods the dandelion appears as a faint blue gleam.

I've recently learned that some glassware contains uranium dioxide and will glow under ultraviolet light. And that they're collectible. For giggles, I used my UV Beast to illuminate some bowls at a house I'm cleaning out. They are not at all yellow/green in normal light. Scorpion under UV light.
For some reason, scorpions glow blue or purple under UV light. This makes them very easy to spot with an UV torch. This glow is quite weak - this is a 3 seconds exposure. During these three seconds, i moved the UV torch around to make sure that the scorpion was evenly lit.
