I’ve been contacting a favorite venue that I’ve had a solid relationship for several years at to line up shows for 2026. I was hoping for two or three this coming year, and as I said, we have worked together for years. I really like the room.

Today, after several messages from me over the past couple of months, I finally heard back. The owner said they have decided on no music until February, and that they have filled their schedule for the rest of the year, but she’s got me on the list of subs in case someone should cancel.

Dissappointed and angry today. Remember, musicians, that you care more about the venues than they care about you. No one cares more about your career than you do.

I just spent HOURS trying to share files with two of my PCs. Then I learned about LAN Share. Co-Pilot tried to help with Windows networking but that failed. When I asked if there was a 3rd party app, 'she' suggested LAN Share. Shoulda...I know.

Okay so I tackled part one, I ripped out all the APs and replicated my wireless configuration and I still hate #ubiquiti.

60% of the IoT devices won't work except on channel 6. Why? No idea. I had them on three separate channels previously.

Performance is a nightmare and half the Wi-Fi cameras work... Occasionally. Hardly useful.

So the Westerville Queer Collective does good work, but our website is in Wix. I don't want to completely re-write it (she says, lying), because at least non-tech folks can update a Wix site.

I've built out Wordpress, Drupal, and now Wix sites for orgs like this, and I hate all of those solutions! Wix, for example, is deprecating our Calendar plugin that shows our public Google event calendar. It works just fine, but they're...turning it off?

Anyway, if anyone has suggestions for non-shitty tools for this, I'm all ears.

I am a big proponent of process automation, but holy hell it can make someone's lives difficult. Especially in combination with cybersecurity.

I've spent three hours today fighting automation and security to do a job that, done manually, would have taken me less than five minutes.
