Day 27 cont 🗺️📍🧭
“Here's where your political #leaders have been campaigning so far”

Where are they missing?

“Neither of the leaders has set foot in an #Indigenous community. That is despite the #PM's(#Labor) victory speech from 2022 opening with a commitment to the #Uluru #Statement from the Heart.” (NB: Labor was the Party to hold, “The Voice” referendum.)

“Mr #Dutton (#LNP / #Liberal / #Nationals / ##Coalition) has been noticeably absent from sites where ☢️ #NuclearReactors ☢️ would be built under his proposed #power plan, and he has deflected #questions from #journalists about when he might visit.”

🇦🇺 2014
#Sunset at #Uluru
Uluru, 2003 – A moment frozen in time. ⏳🔥

Back then, it was still possible to climb this sacred monolith, and I did. Today, I wouldn’t, and now it’s rightfully prohibited out of respect for the Anangu people. Looking back, Australia was an unforgettable outdoor adventure—vast landscapes, raw nature, and an endless sense of freedom.

Who else has experienced the magic of the Outback? 🇦🇺🌏

"So Many People Want A Four-Door That Had To Close Order Books After Just Four Days"
- I had a chance to drive one of these for 4 days around in last July. It was a pleasant experience. The US highways may be a problem, but it is great for rural areas.

For the #ArtAdventCalendar today, a memory of a true trip of a lifetime, a visit to #Uluru...

With a couple days gone by, visiting Uluru was so much better than I had anticipated. Can't stress this enough. The whole vibe there is so special when you walk around it or are near it. Really impressed.

Especially walking around it was so relaxing and just breathtaking. Bring lots of water and start EARLY.

Ok, now where is that red thing.

Entry way on the tarmac at Ayers Rock Connellan airport. The entrance is a red arch, probably a symbol of the Uluru, saying "palaya" in big letters and "Welcome to Ayers Rock Resort" underneath.

Sacred Places

Everyone knows #Uluru, the red sandstone monolith at the heart of Australia, and most people know about nearby Kata Tjuta.

But not that many know that there is a third mountain in the line-up - Atila. It is flat-topped and about 100km east of the other two, and outside the national park.

All three feature as sacred places in local lore and are usually depicted in artworks as three sets of concentric circles joined by lines.
