#TrainTrackTuesday: Remember the #abandonedRailway track in the woods I showed you a couple of weeks ago? This photo is from the same line in a different part of #Biederitz. This 500m (0.3mi) #railroadBridge across the Elbe floodplain and the Ehle river has become a listed #bridge and even has its own Wikipedia page (in German). It was built in 1846 and large parts of it are still original. It was closed in 1998 and is now barricaded due to deterioration, but the bridge continues to be a prominent landmark in the area. You can spot it in the background of some of my sunset photos. 😉

A low-angle perspective shows a set of disused railway tracks stretching into the distance. The tracks are made of rusty metal rails laid upon weathered wooden sleepers, many of which are covered in green moss or lichen. The tracks curve slightly to the left as they recede towards the horizon. To the right of the tracks, a rusty metal railing runs alongside, with bare trees and dry, brown fields visible beyond. On the left, similar fields and a few more bare trees are present. The sky above is partly cloudy, with patches of blue visible through the grey and white clouds. The overall scene has a somewhat desolate and abandoned feel.
