One thing about volunteering in a #Unitarian #Universalist church community is that you realize that you can’t cite your ancient age of 53 years old as an excuse for not helping out more— not when there are people 20 years older than you that are lapping you, volunteering-wise.

I'm mildly frustrated with an issue that will probably be resolved after one of my coworkers gets back from vacation in 2 weeks.

I want to start attending a #FriendsMeeting this #Sunday , but the co-worker who was going to cover every-other-Sunday for me got a weekly gig at a different #church

I ain't mad about it - I'm glad he has this opportunity. I just wish the timing was better for me.

* Help! I've got a lot of paperwork done & ready for review, but I'm not sure of my next steps.

I'm not a #universalist, but have hope that a large number of people will repent and turn to God before Jesus returns. Several reasons ...

1) Rev 14 talks about two harvests. One is a good one, one is a bad one. There will be a harvest of souls.

2) There are three Jewish feasts at the end of the harvest season: Trumpets, Day of Atonement, and Tabernacles. From a Christian perspective, these can be seen in an eschatological sense ... [1/x]

Even tho I'm a #Universalist, I absolutely believe with all my heart that the concept of #hell was not initially created in order to scare people into obedience nor to create a hierarchy of the "ins" and the "outs." Rather, I believe that the concept of hell first originated because people saw people do horrendous things in this life and get away with it. And since there was no justice in this life, they hoped that there would be justice in an afterlife. Only after that did it get coopted.

Today's a snap mini-heatwave. Tomorrow it may snow, so I'm spending as much time out in this as I can, sewing this year's Butzemann while studying Tibeto-Mongolian dharma (Bob Thurman podcast episodes) on the back porch, soaking in light & warmth while xontemplating what to plant in physical and Buddha fields. #Lenzing #Spring #Universalist #Buddhist #Heathen #Urglaawe
