My boss hired a guy via #Upwork to do work with Zoho's Canvas to translate a user-friendly design into a CRM view. I guess it's easy to pretend you're a specialist, with all the tutorials on YouTube. But a few minutes of meeting him (he didn't even do us the courtesy of showing his face on Zoom) we could tell he's the wrong guy for the job. Too late. 🤷‍♀️

Yup. We're moving to #Zoho. I'm kinda excited for the move but not for the customer support we'll be getting. This early, they've failed me 2x.

I posted a job on one of those platforms asking for something impossible (but I didn't realise). The ten software engineers that applied clearly didn't realise either. The one guy who I invited to consider the job, turned it down and explained why it was impossible. He saved me (to me) a lot of money. He turned down payment. If I need any android software/app development doing in the future, he'll be getting first refusal!

Відублася забавна подія - ми отримали інвайт на джобу на #Upwork, де пропонували "пофіксити" проблему, надавши репозиторий з зловмисним кодом (детальніше про цей код можна прочитати тут https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1856914908899647519.html). Знаючи, що це скам, ми домовились на погодинний контракт. Наш розробник почав трекати час, ознайомився з кодом та усюди в ньому закоментив запуск зловмисного коду. Далі розробник внесл потрібні правки та відправив код на перевірку "клієнту" ;-)
Скамер сподівався, що запустивши проєкт та почавши розбиратись з ним він отримує повний доступ до компа розробника, його кейчейнів з паролями та доступом до криптогаманців.
Але вийшло усе інакше, йому прийшлось заплатити десь на 300+ баксов за виконану роботу, яку він просив ;-)
