Just a reminder that Linux runs really well on old hardware. My 10+ year laptop runs Linux and KDE and I have yet to consider upgrading the hardware.
The Register reports that Windows 10 will be end-of-life in a year. If you have an old laptop running Windows 10, give it some new life with Linux 🐧

Today is not a day for email, it seems. Anyone using New Outlook? Don't. It is Hot Garbage. In fact it's so bad I think Microsoft are actually being negligent putting a little toggle switch into every old Outlook inviting you to try it. Yes, Microsoft: thank you for the opportunity to test-drive your crappy beta software in my production environment with all my invaluable customer information. Schmucks.
It ate an important email I was writing so back to the garbage pile it went. After which I re-wrote and sent that email to my customer whereupon my own company's security software flagged an attachment with an image in it as somehow suspect and, reader, I am finishing for lunch early. If anyone needs me I'll be rummaging in my junk cupboards for my old ink pot, Quill, and wax sealing kit.

I don't think Microsoft Recall is empowering users. It's extremely opaque, it has a blacklist which doesn't record things that Microsoft doesn't want you to (like #DRM) and it choofs a bunch of your personal data to Microsoft's servers for processing (aka #Copilot).
I find it very hard to focus while using Windows. Every now and then, it shows a notification, even when dnd is turned on. On Linux on the other hand, I never have that problem - dnd works great, and the UI isn't bloated. #uselinux #uselinuxbehappy
