2dh5 is an activist festival/conference, this years edition under the title "Building collective(s) tools for an anti-fascist future".
In three locations, @ACU.nl, BAK and Moira, two dozen workshops were held today and a party tonight and another series of workshops is following tomorrow.

An hour ago @ACU.nl in #Utrecht was attacked! Fascists threw a stinking smoke bomb into the café. Nobody got hurt. There were anti-left and anti-queer slogans on the empty shell. So this is not only an attack on leftist people, but also on queer people. Especially because tonight there is a queer party planned as part of the @2dh5 festival. 2.Dh5 and ACU ask as much people as possible to join the party.!

Serve is a sonic statement, a genuine story told by way of unabated riffs, pummeling breakdowns and gut-wrenching hooks. Expect metallic hardcore with old-school and modern influences, ranging from Converge and Slipknot to Fit For An Autopsy and Spirit Box.

This is our purgation, sharing our hopes and griefs with those willing to listen and lose themselves in the moment. We journey into unhealed scars and rip open new ones through playing songs from our EP’s ‘Life Isn’t Lived, It Is Suffered Through’ and ‘Deeper Into The Wound’ as well as our full-length ‘The Light Outlives The Sun’ and more recently on our latest single ‘ An Angel Entombed’.

Dad Magic

Dad Magic is a post-hardcore band from Ghent, Belgium. Their unique blend of post-hardcore with danceable elements creates a surge of energy that is bound to get you moving. With a combination of catchy melodies and snarling vocals, the band guarantees a set full of fun.

Sometimes sincere, sometimes irreverent, always honest.

Rites

DIY, 80’s nostalgia, vinyl and fast guitars: that’s Rites. With four releases including the new record No Change Without Me and over 120 (international) shows to their name, this hardcorepunk outfit is just getting started. Rites is not afraid to speak up about the current state of the world. Influenced by bands such as The Distillers, Dag Nasty and Drug Church, Rites presents high energy hardcore with a punkrock twist.

Idle Thumbs is een Utrechtse garage-brit-punkband. Ze spelen songs in hoog tempo over nucleaire dreiging, gentrificatie en mannelijke strippers. Serieuze onderwerpen kunnen verpakt zijn in hele vrolijke liedjes. De band heeft een hoog energieniveau waar je goed op los kunt gaan. De chaotische, sarcastische teksten en podiumuitstraling van de Britse zanger Jake doen denken aan The Fall, de andere drie Nederlandse bandleden treden op als een gepolijste moderne garagerockmachine. Sinds 2023 organiseert Idle Thumbs op bevrijdingsdag het altijd uitverkochte Vrijhaven Festival bij de Nijverheid.

Idle Thumbs is a GarageBritPunk band from Utrecht. They play songs at a high tempo about nuclear threats, misogyny, gentrification and male strippers. Sometimes catchy, sometimes brutal, always fast, and always telling stories. Their live shows are wild, but inclusive, so relax, and go crazy ;). The chaotic, sarcastic lyrics and unpredictable stage presence of British singer Jake echo The Fall, with the three Dutchmen driving a tight garage rock machine that summons the spirit of the Hives. They also organise and curate the always sold-out Vrijhaven Festival at de Nijverheid on Liberation Day in Utrecht.

Yesterday evening Defend Netherlands (group of fascists and literal nazi's) tried to attack a barricaded @ACU.nl, a radical left political cultural centre in #Utrecht. They tried to frame this under the guise of commemorating the death of the French fascist Quentin Deranque. Because they communicated with their fellow fascists that they would meet in a car park near the central station, we internally had mobilised to meet near the station as well. The police ordered us that we could go to the Dom Square, but we wanted to go to ACU (to defend it). So eventually, after some minor skirmishes we arrived at the ACU on the Voorstraat.

Because of the Dutch demonstration law, the police facilitated the (~25) fascists to stay in hear and sight of our group (~150) in front of the ACU. It didn't took long before they were throwing stinking smoke bombs and not later after that (could be quicker), they were escorted back to the station, but the fascists tried to use another route to ACU. They didn't succeed with that and most of them where eventually put on the train back to Naziland. Only few fascists were trying to go back to the ACU, but they didn't succeed as well and where even scared when they saw some anti-fascists.
