Was there ever a Rogue-like developed for the VIC-20? I realize between the 22 column display and the paucity of RAM that's a tall order, but I'm regularly surprised what creative and motivated developers come up with.

I've updated my #cpm65 ports for the #C64 and #vic20. They now have an integrated fastloader for much better disk performance, more RAM, better screen handling, better keyboard handling and are in general much more useful. You get:

- an assembler and disassembler
- two editors
- some demo programs and tools
- a port of Atari BASIC
- binary compatibility with the other 14 CP/M-65 platforms (getting the binaries onto the disk is your problem)
- bugs

VIC-20 image quality comparison with and without the TheRetroChannel video mod. The improvement is quite dramatic in most cases.

Although the comparison here shows SVideo, the improvement over composite is almost as substantial.

Last night I installed the TheRetroChannel 🇦🇺 VIC-20 SVideo/Composite board in my "VC-20".

It went relatively easily, although I should probably clean up and add some fresh solder to the pins around the video socket sometime. But it works for now. Comparison screenshots coming up next! 🧵👇

Two VIC-20 S-Video and Composite ... thing... These must be soldered on the bottom of the PCB, to connect some of the pins of the VIC chip. One side has all the components, the other side has a detailed description on how to install it, printed on the silk screen.
