Porque lo verdaderamente fuerte era lo normalizado que estaba que las mujeres necesitaran sedarse para poder «cumplir».
💭 El “descanso” de la ama de casa: ¿medicado o resignado?
En esa época, ser mujer significaba encajar a la fuerza en un molde: esposa perfecta, mamá ejemplar, señora siempre sonriente. No había espacio para el desborde emocional, el cansancio o la angustia. Había que seguir. Porque cuestionar el sistema no era una opción. Y entonces… 💊
El Valium se convirtió en la solución silenciosa. Para los nervios, para la ansiedad, para las emociones “inadecuadas”. Era la pastilla del “todo está bien” cuando claramente no lo estaba.
La presión no venía con una válvula de escape. Venía con receta médica.
🧪 El botiquín de la represión: salud mental antes de que fuera “cool”
Lo irónico es que, justo en esos años, comenzó a crecer la industria de la salud mental… pero con fuertes estigmas. Así que, en lugar de ir a terapia o expresar su malestar, muchas amas de casa tenían su propio “terapeuta de bolsillo”: un frasco de tranquilizantes escondido en el botiquín del baño.
Y lo más fuerte es que lo hacían porque no había otra.
Desobedecer ese guion de “buena mujer” era impensable.
🧠 Reflexión final: ¿de verdad hemos cambiado?
Hoy hablamos más de salud mental (y menos mal), pero… ¿realmente hemos evolucionado?
Quizá ya no tomamos Valium como si fuera té, pero seguimos buscando sustitutos emocionales para encajar.
Tal vez ahora nos medicamos para rendir más, para no “fallar”, para parecer “normales”. 🤖
📲 La productividad tóxica, la validación en redes, los ansiolíticos disfrazados de autoayuda…
la presión de ser suficiente nunca se fue —solo cambió de envoltura.
Y lo peor: seguimos atrapadas en moldes de lo “normal” y lo “anormal”.

Y si el sistema no cambia… te medican para que lo aguantes.
