Today I completed the six wood panels that cover the insulated walls of my camper van. ✅
They will eventually need filler, primer, paint, and in some sections wallpaper. Maybe. I haven't decided. 🎨
The doors and ceiling also deserve wood panels but next on The Big List are a couple of 250W roof-mounted solar panels. ☀️🔋
Gotta have juice to 💻 and 🧑🍳!

I should stop predicting van project durations. I'm always wrong, they don't matter, and I have unnecessary feels when I go into overtime.
That said, I'm looking forward to reassembling the living area in the next week or so.

Groggy morning thought: Should I wallpaper my camper van interior with kapton tape?

Note to self: Don't use thin cheap plywood and a dull jig blade unless torn out nasty edges are the goal.

TIL about ATGANI from the offroading community: All The Gear And No Idea. 😺
For camper vans there are a seemingly infinite number of gear options. It has been frustrating to build as needs arise because by definition I'm always bumping into unmet needs. However, my ideas for what I need have drastically changed after living with the van for just a few months. It's a big win, I think.

Van LAN parts:
- Nighthawk M6 Pro 5G modem
- OpenWRT One router
- Sodola 8x2.5GbE 1x10GbE switch
- RPi 5 w/SSD
- Home Assistant Connect ZBT-1
- Home Assistant Voice
- SwitchBot C02 & temp sensor
- Tangera music player
- BT ear buds
- BT ear cans
- Phone
- Tablet
- Lappie
I've been using the modem, air sensor, ear buds, phone, and tablet but the rest is in a box waiting until the camper conversion is closer to V1.
Whew! 😌
My goofy idea to run air vents through the rear (D) columns of my van has worked out well and ticking it off my my to-do list feels great 💪🎉.
From outside of the van the portable AC is a barely noticable white noise. Fingers crossed the AC and insulation performs well enough in hot weather to keep the more fluffy of the smols from melting. 🫠

I threw my Ford Transit column ventilation parts up on Printables in the off chance that someone else will want to avoid cutting holes in their roof for MaxAir fans or AC units. It's a reasonably stealthy way to move air in and out of a camper van, though of course if there is steam coming from under your van then you're so busted. 😺
I suppose if you really want to go stealth then you'll need heat transfer and a condensation catcher.

I'm taking advantage of proximity to my 3D printers to make a few parts for the ventilation system in my camper van.

Dog bless car nerds who share their process like this person who made a step by step video for sniffing car data, figuring out what it means, and then making a custom display with live info.

Will camper van parts* made wih Bambu's PETG HF survive this Summer? Let's find out!
🤞
* interior, non-structural, nowhere near the drive train, closed course, professional driver, DNTTAH, etc.

It's forecast to break 90f in a few days so I better complete the van's cabin AC installation, huh?
You know, for the smols. Not me. I'm sooooo tough. 🫠
