📍Vilnius, Lithuania
The sound of rain 🌧️accompanied me as I stepped off the bus in Riga. Navigating the bus system proved to be a bit tricky, especially since I was eager to escape the downpour and accidentally hopped on the wrong one. However, this little mishap turned out to be a blessing in disguise, allowing me to explore parts of Vilnius that I might have otherwise missed.
The Old Town became my favorite spot, conveniently located near my hotel. I indulged in some delightful local dining experiences. Although I didn’t manage to pick up a book in the local language as I usually do, I did find a fascinating history book about the area. If you find yourself here for a while, there’s plenty to see and do:
⭐️Gediminas Tower: Apparently this is the most frequently visited branch of the National Museum of Lithuania. I did not really know about this place until I saw it. I became curious about the history of it afterwards.
⭐️Vilnius Old Town: Home to many Baroque and Gothic churches as well as a neoclassical town hall. It was fascinating to see and felt like a history lesson. This is one of the largest surviving medieval towns in Northern Europe.
What would you include on your list of go to places in Vilnius?
