A tiny black-and-white CRT TV designed to fit into a stereo equipment rack so it could be used as a oscilloscope-style analyzer.

It was badged JCPenney. The store whose current claim to fame is "we outlasted Sears" actually had an inexplicably good range of own-brand #vintageaudio gear, usually labelled MCS.

$80 was too rich for me, but I'd love a modern take on it as a DIY kit using a Pico and LCD.

Opened up an amplifier I've been lugging round for years. A 1980 sansui AU-217 MK2. But ... I think I've a leaky cap's problem. Does that look like on the pic's below?
And is it still worth to fix,if it can be fixed?

Spent the day running errands, but managed to squirrel a little time at the charity shop browsing the records. Almost walked out with a Gaby Haas and the Chuck wagon Gang as it has local caché, but passed as I don't really enjoy accordion music.

Did pick up this classic though. Mono 1962 release of The Ventures play Telstar, The Lonely Bull. It needs a bit of a clean so it'll be a while before I play it, so queuing it up on the web will have to do for now.

5. Final Thoughts & Lessons Learned 💭

The refoaming process was successful, though it came at a higher-than-expected cost. The foam replacement kit was ordered from a well-renowned shop in the U.S. for approximately $50. Ended a week of evenings of me and mrs. T working on PrintDOG. It started as a Prusa i3 Mk3, studied hard and became an S, more studying and it was a + for a while.

It was working well but a few parts were wearing out. I was considering replacing it with a Bambu P1S Core-type printer - then Bambu went and did their 'thing' that made me really appreciate the open nature of the Prusa platforms.

And since I'd originally built PrintDOG as a kit, I was kinda familiar with what went where -- I ordered an updgrade kit and now PrintDog is a Prusa MK4S.

And working amazingly well.

I'm also rebuilding some vintage bookshelf speakers. The paper gaskets were not recoverable so I modelled and printed replacements.

Oh, shoutout to @MaryPot for the heads-up on the Bambu thing... it's kinda scary.
