• People are fleeing the #US en massé because they want to actually live in a society and not constantly feel like sitting ducks and naked as they do in a nation that is soaked in #ViolenceCulture and where #MassShootings are rampant due to that.

Granted the #ViolenceCulture in the #USA is so extreme and rampant, that when you accompany someone from the #US for the first time in regular #Germany they may feel like they're naked and constantly paranoid, expecting someone at any second to shoot up the place they're in.

• It takes folks weeks if not months to adjust to the fact that this is just not happening here.

"#MassShootings" are statistically nonexistant (despite fearmongering) in #Germany even tho Germany has the biggest black market per capita outside former #Yugoslavia since at least 1972, when the Government retroactively criminalized 16,7M guns in legal possession (previously legal to mail-order repeaters and single-loaders as long guns, like rifles and shotguns), not accounting for 5M-15M+ in "inventory losses" in both World Wars and at least 1M-10M+ inventory losses from the fmr. #GDR and an unknown number of imports from fmr. Yugoslavia, fmr. Warsaw Pact & fmr. USSR...

Point is that #ViolenceCulture is the problem, espechally in the Post - #Luty / Post - #FGC9 - era where anyone with a vise, hacksaw, drill and sheetmetal and/or 3D-Printer can just fabricate guns.

• People don't resort to #violence because it's socially not accepted and they actually ain't forced into extreme poverty but have some actual social security...

• Like not even cartel members are shooting up shit, and the few cases someone does create way more attention and political pressure to crackdown than #OrganizedCrime wants to bargain for.

The point is not access to #guns but rather that #Europe for the most part had seen enough #violence that #ViolenceCulture is being frowned upon.

• The problem ain't the lack of legal guns, in fact it's easy to get illegal firearms, but that violence is just not being accepted.

#Crime avoids violence like firearm discharges because that'll get you instantly to "wanted level 3" even for a signal cartridge or paintball launcher.

• Besides, it's way less normalized or accepted to get both brutalized by #cops (abeit I hate the trend moves in the wrong direction of #PoliceViolence escalating!) and the fact that crime is less treated as a moral failure but a symptom of something bigger, with justice being focussed on remediating the underlying issues and resocialization rather than commercial exploitation with forced labour.

• You can see that in #Switzerland: Despite people having their [select-fire, "assault"] rifle at home behind their couch, you don't see that amount of "advanced suicides" as in the #USA even when you adjust everything per capita and guns. (In fact it's easier to buy a new machine gun there as a civilian than it is to get a C&R FFL in the USA.)

Same goes for places full off (il-)legal guns like Croatia, Serbia, Kosovo and #Germany:

• The latter one has at least 16,7M illegalized and and estimated >40M illegal guns in circulation, yet untrained cops are the prime shooters.

So tell me: If you don't trust your fellow citizen with a gun, why would you trust the same person if they get forcibly recruited and/or shoved into a uniform?
