Helen Merrill is the debut studio album by vocalist Helen Merrill, on which she is accompanied by trumpeter Clifford Brown in arrangements by Quincy Jones. Brown had recorded a similar album with Sarah Vaughan only a few days previously, on December 16 and 18, 1954.
The AllMusic review by Scott Yanow stated: "The music is essentially straight-ahead bop, yet the seven standards ... are uplifted by the presence of Merrill (in top form) and Brown." In a review of a 2007 reissue of Merrill's first two albums by Lone Hill Jazz, David Rickert singled out the performance of "'S Wonderful" as "one of the best versions of the Gershwin tune I've heard in years" and called the two sessions "a vocal jazz feast well worth deserving of more renown." - Wikipedia

Pass Me By is a 1965 studio album by Peggy Lee.
Pass Me By Review by John Bush
Capitol aimed songs from Pass Me By at several different markets, and the effect is a scattershot LP with several nuggets but no real cohesion. First up is the delightfully tossed-off popcorn tune "Sneakin' Up on You," but it's followed by the title track, a queasy strike-up-the-band march which surprisingly reached the charts. "Dear Heart" leans toward the countrypolitan sound (it would've fit much better as a vehicle for Charlie Rich), and the Beatles cover "A Hard Day's Night" wasn't a good match at all; Lee strains to hit the lower notes, and sounds tentative singing the lyrics. While her vocals are on the weak side from a technical standpoint, Lee's interpretive powers are mostly intact, and her flair on "Sneakin' Up on You" makes it a natural for one of those swinging novelties often heard on '60s compilations.

A Swingin', Singin' Affair by Mark Murphy, released on Fontana in 1965.
A rare British session from vocalist Mark Murphy -- and one of his grooviest albums of the 60s! Mark's working here with great backings from the orchestras of Tubby Hayes, John Dankworth, and Les Reed -- all of whom give Murphy some of his hippest grooves to date, very much in the mode of some of his work on the Midnight Mood album cut for MPS during the same overseas 60s stretch. And as with that one, there's a nice selection of tunes that goes way past the usual -- and which shows off the widest range of Murphy's groovy vocal talents -- titles that include "Ballyhoo", "Iceberg", "Stablemates", "She Loves You", "Come Rain Or Come Shine", "I Left My Heart In San Francisco", "From Time To Time", and "The Best Is Yet To Come" - Dusty Groove

Big $pender is a 1966 studio album by Peggy Lee. It was recorded with the orchestra of Bill Holman.
Big $pender Review by John Bush
Blending a couple of then-current show tunes with older classics of the big band form, Peggy Lee's 1966 LP Big $pender occasionally rose its head above the level of kitsch -- and much more so than 1965's Pass Me By. It's tough to blame Lee herself; while the arrangements (including work by Dave Grusin and Bill Holman) are mostly successful, again and again the accompaniment descends into rote repetition of the usual rock motifs. The blaring brass of the title track make it a highlight, though, and Lee sounds positively jubilant while singing a genuine standard ("Let's Fall in Love") over a conservative arrangement...

You're so late getting home from the office
Did you miss your train?
Were you caught in the rain?
No, don't bother to explain
Can I fix you a quick martini?
As a matter of fact, I'll have one with you
For to tell you the truth
I've had a quite a day too
Guess who I saw today, my dear?
Playing solo (pno+voc) this Saturday at @silentjazzbar alongside @annaborsdorf & @tobias_christl ♥️🎶🎤 Happy to see you there!

Burnin' (Live At Freddie Jett's Pied Piper, L.A.) by Esther Phillips, released by Atlantic in 1970.
"With her lubricious, naturally sardonic high vibrato, this modern blues singer is well equipped to carry Dinah Washington's torch, and a club date with the likes of Chuck Rainey and Cornell Dupree is the perfect place for her to shine her light—even the horn overdubs sound hot."

Betty Carter at the Village Vanguard (original title Betty Carter) is a 1970 live album by Betty Carter..
The song "Ego" uses the tune of Randy Weston's composition "Berkshire Blues" with Carter's own lyrics. - Wikipedia
At the Village Vanguard Review by Ron Wynn
Betty Carter's remarkable early-'70s LPs were initially available only on her own poorly distributed label. This live date captured Carter when her voice was its most pliable, her delivery in full bloom and her range and power at their peak. She could scat with a fury and rhythmic intensity that were almost magical, then turn a slow tune like "The Sun Died" or "Body and Soul" into a showcase by emphasizing key lyrics, subtly changing each stanza, or increasing the pace at an unexpected moment. This deserves full attention, as it represents Betty Carter still evolving and perfecting her matchless technique.
