Hi #Blind #Musicians and #Opera students. Looking into the best way to write out a text in another language, its corresponding International Phonetic Alphabet transcription, and its word-for-word English translation in inkprint via a computer and then emboss or generate BRFs of that document to review in #Braille. I would just write the BRFs on my Braille display, but I would prefer my instructors to see the IPA which I've written as sighted vocalists would. IF this is not easily accomplished, I will simply continue writing out my transcriptions via Braille display. Any help appreciated.

Recently, I've started to pay more attention to the #lyricists and other personnel listed on the #music I listen to, and I am learning about a vast pool of #musicians I've never heard of. For example, many of the songs on #BonnieRaitt 's first album were written by #Black people. Can the industry do a better job of acknowledging everyone's contributions? Maybe #DJ s should mention songwriters and soloists when announcing #bands and #vocalists ?

For my (Sarah’s) part of this concert, I’ll be performing my original Irish-style violin/piano duo, “Gleann Na Aes Sídhe (Glen of the Faeries)”, as well as joining the First Church Trio on fiddle for a couple of traditional songs. And I’ll even be singing with the choir and playing a couple of handbells with the Bell Choir! 🤩

All together in one concert to support the victims of the fires in LA. We hope you’ll join us for this fun, Irish-themed Benefit Concert! ☘

This is a FREE concert!

There will be a free-will offering. All proceeds will go to United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR). This organization helps ALL who are affected, and 100% of your donations to UMCOR go directly to helping the victims of the fires.

If you can’t make it in person, this concert will be streamed live on the church’s Facebook page, and you can make donations through the church’s secure donation website.
