I had my first dose of #vyvanse yesterday.
Now I am kind of mad that I played the last 49 years on hard mode 🤬

#ADHD Stimulant Drugs Linked to Cardiomyopathy
The study adds to growing evidence of potential long-term harms associated with stimulant drugs like #Adderall, #Ritalin, and #Vyvanse. Previous research has linked these medications to cardiovascular issues...

Trying to make the most of day while not having had #Vyvanse. On top of that I feel like I may be getting sick 🤒 It's tough...I've gotten a bunch of blankets and pillows and am situated downstairs for the time being. :nkoDead:
Blaaaahghhagah I hate how useless I am without #Vyvanse....🤬😓🥴
The colorful toys scattered around the waiting room usually brought a smile to Wren's face, reminding her of her son, Leo. But today, they only amplified her inner turmoil. #ADD #Adderall #ADHD #adults #attentiondeficithyperactivitydisorder #copingstrategies #diagnosis #executivedysfunction #hyperactivity #impulsivity #inattention #medication #Ritalin #Strattera #symptoms #therapy #treatment #Vyvanse
The rhythmic ticking of the clock on Dr. Priya's wall seemed to mock Wren's racing thoughts. Anyone out there using #ADHD meds like
#lisdexamfetamine / #lisdeksamfetamin ?
Typically aka #Vyvanse #Aduanz #Elvanse #Volidax #Balidax etc
...but you need a higher dosage compared to what's recommended?
The thing is, my previous Doc (and also ADHD expert) allowed me to exceed the recommended max dose (80mg/day) while testing #Ritalin (#methylphenidate / #metylfenidat) to find what actually worked for me.
(1/2)
Alright I'm awake. Grateful for the #Vyvanse!
Finally had to dig into my super emergency #vyvanse stash because I really haven't gotten much done this week and it feels terrible.
I'm feeling much better this morning and am ready to get stuff done! 🤩
#ADHD #productivity :mastodondance: :nkoHehe:
Anyone on #Vyvanse / #lisdexamfetamine experience this?:
Once it's kicked in, there's a few hours where things are feeling great (physically and mentally) I'm able to crunch on things for awhile pretty well.
But eventually this happens:
Not only do the positive/therapeutic effects wear off, I go from zero side effects to just this racing heart feeling / palpitation feeling. Maybe that's just so strong it distracts me from the therapeutic bit, not sure.
Dosage thing? something else? it stinks.
#Vyvanse (generic, per insurance mandate) appears to still be near-impossible to obtain, for a person in the US with #ADHD. I had to switch to #Adderall XR (generic again) and haven’t experienced many supply-chain issues since.
Nevertheless, the events which led me to this place - we may not have found the definitive proof yet, but The Grift feels strong with this one.
Oh wait. Did I say grift? I think I meant Capitalism.
Went from name brand Vyvanse today to generic Lisdexamfetamine and I feel like a 80s Hollywood executive. I'm glad I'm taking a couple days off work or I might have been sent to HR for "a very special episode".
I thought the generic might hit me different but I didn't expect this much difference. Let's hope my body adjusts because this is unsustainable.
Medication for ADHD is very important. Exercise is also highly beneficial as well.
Whenever possible, both of them should be combined for the best result in reducing ADHD symptoms.
A genuine question:
If medication is practically impossible in your situation, do you think regular exercise enough to manage ADHD symptoms?
Still have “track” marks from nurse/tech taking my obs this morning.
They tried twice, it failed both but almost took my arm off the second time.
Maybe this is why ALDI discontinued them.
With new med change GP want me to take own obs every 3 days.
So yeah, I’m this old now.

I went to the dentist on Wednesday (yes in the middle of exam week, like a NINNY!) and told him I have one single bothersome side effect of using #Vyvanse to treat my ADHD… it’s a stupid, stupid side effect that really bothers me. I bite my nails more than I did before treatment but I’ve always bitten my nails. Anyway, I push my bottom teeth outwards with my tongue constantly, and especially when I’m stressed. I have to get a “splint” thing in my mouth to wear at night. Boooooo.
If #lisdexamfetamine is out of stock, could I replace it with common #speed? 🤔 #question #adhd
In other medication related updates, I seem to be doing well with 20 mg of Vyvanse. If I go up to 40, I'm definitely able to get more done, but the dry mouth becomes just as bad as Adderall and makes my insomnia worse. 20 mg gives me a gentle boost in focus and I can still get 5 or 6 hours of sleep at night.
My insurance sort of covers it. While the rest of my meds are $0 or under a dollar, Vyvanse is $150 because the generic is perpetually out of stock.
Good thing I have an HSA to cover things like that, but I really shouldn't have to.
Into week two with #ADHD and no #Vyvanse. The problem isn’t that even the simplest tasks are all starting to look like mountains—I’m used to that, and my lack of time-sense keeps my focus on present difficulties rather than future ones—but rather that now I’m wasting massive amounts of time comparison-shopping for rope and carabiners.
I have ADHD. Some of you are probably tired of hearing your friends talk about their ADHD, and that attitude is part of the reason I’m here today.
Because the disbelief that ADHD sufferers are actually suffering has led the DEA to keep their stimulant production quotas at levels that weren’t great pre-pandemic. You know that massive world-shifting event where everyone’s routines and structures were broken down and a bunch of undiagnosed neurodivergent people realized something was up?
For the past 3 days I’ve been calling random pharmacies and trying to get anyone to say “Yes. We have stock of your prescription and will take your insurance and they’ll pay a reasonable amount of the cost.” I just want my damn meds because I have never had a brain that functions normally, and I want to know if it’s possible.
This is not even to mention that I have a separate diagnosis that these meds also treat, and that one is a physical concern as well as a mental concern. Not that that is more important than my brain.
I made a 2 hr round trip drive to a random pharmacy yesterday because they told me on the phone that they had my medication in stock. When I got there, they said they had the wrong dosage but could have the right one tomorrow. Then they called my insurance.
My insurance said they’d pay $81 of the $700 cost.
I’ve got reason to believe the whole interaction was bogus, but after the whole thing I gave up for the day.
Can someone just fill my prescription?
