Scott Hunter est le capitaine des New Yorker Admirals, une équipe de hockey. Ses résultats ne sont pas très bons et il recherche tous les moyens pour mettre la chance de son côté. Avant un match important, il boit un smoothie réalisé spécialement pour lui. Quand il se rend compte que cela a cassé sa spirale de défaite, il veut répéter ce qui semble être devenu son porte-bonheur pré-match. Mais est-ce pour le smoothie qu'il revient dans le café ou pour le barista, Kip Grady ?

Comme beaucoup, j'ai vu le succès grandissant à chaque sortie de la série Heated Rivalry. Je dois avouer que je ne connaissais pas les livres avant et que ça m'intéressait peu, la romance n'étant pas mon genre de prédilection. Avec le contexte morose de l'état du monde en décembre, je me suis laissée tenter (à l'époque on trouvait les épisodes sur Dailymotion). Les 2 premiers épisodes m'avaient bien plu mais le troisième avec Kit et Scott a fini par me convaincre. À la fin de la saison, je me suis décidée à lire les romans (un par mois !).
Je ne m'attendais pas à grand chose (à part beaucoup de scènes 🌶) et, pourtant, j'ai adhéré assez vite à cette romance. J'ai été conquise par les deux personnages et leur histoire d'amour. La série est très fidèle au livre même si tout va plus vite (faut dire qu'ils n'ont eu qu'un épisode et des scènes dans deux autres épisodes). Chapeau à Jacob Tierney et à son équipe ! Le style de Rachel Reid est assez simple mais léger et agréable. Les scènes 🌶 ne sont pas cringe, mais elles sont un peu nombreuses. Au bout d'un moment, j'avais envie qu'elle passe à autre chose et c'est ce qu'elle fait d'ailleurs, donnant une belle part aux sentiments et à la communication.
Les personnages secondaires sont chouettes aussi que ce soient les parents de Kip, Elena sa meilleure amie, son groupe d'amis ainsi que les coéquipiers de Scott.

VoiceOver Bug with InstaCart: 😥 Ran into this bug today using the most up to date version of InstaCart App on iOS. I was trying to help someone add a EBT SNAP to their CheckOut, and I'd seen it work earlier breaking out items that were EBT approved grocery items and the remainder that would be payed via another mechanism, like ApplePay. But when selecting EBT and hitting the Confirm Button, it always rolled back to the previous Payment Method; Selecting other Payment Methods didn't have this same problem. For example, I could switch between PayPal & ApplePay seamlessly, just couldn't select EBT. On a whim, I turned on VoiceOver's Screen Recognition Mode, thinking on occasions I'd see a element not be selected with traditional VO Focus but only with Screen Recognition mode on. And, it worked, I was able to select EBT. Then InstaCart Broke out the groceries so most items were covered and a few went on the persons ApplePay. The Final hurdle was a PIN Code Request to authorize the payment, the on screen key pad was a bit wonkie and not compatible with typical on screen input, so it required a bit of flicking and Double Tapping, but it worked! At that point, I'd turned Screen Recognition off. I might have twigged to the problem earlier, when I heard or should I say didn't hear "Selected" after I Double Tap on the EBT Card, but given the interface is riddled with these kind of bugs, I didn't give it much thoughtt. Any how, thought I'd share, might save someone else from having their blood pressure shoot off the charts! #VO #instacartplus

Nächster Stammtisch im Cafe franz-mehlhose für alle, die irgendwie das Thema pflegende Angehörige tangiert, ist dann
am 8. Januar um 15:15 Uhr (Löberstr. 12)

Unser interner Arbeitskreis (derzeit zwei pflegende Angehörige) für Public Relation sucht noch Unterstützung und Beratung. Da geht es zunächst vor allem um gedruckte oder handgeschriebene Zettel um den Leuten den Weg zu uns zu weisen. Aber dann auch um die Überarbeitung der Webseiten und Social Media Auftritte, wie unter Linktr.ee/pflegende gelistet.

Basierend auf den Ankündigungen des Thüringer Sozialministeriums vom September 2025 stellt sich ein wichtiges Thema für das erste Halbjahr 2026 wie folgt dar:

Thüringer Pflegeentwicklungsgesetz

Ministerin Katharina Schenk hat die Erarbeitung angekündigt, wozu der Entwurf planmäßig im März 2026 vorgelegt werden soll. Dieses Gesetz dient der rechtlichen Umsetzung der 78 Handlungsempfehlungen aus dem bereits im Juli 2025 veröffentlichten Pflegeentwicklungsplan 2025.

Die drei zentralen Säulen des Gesetzentwurfs:

Verbesserung der Beratung: Ausbau und gesetzliche Absicherung von Beratungsangeboten für Pflegebedürftige und deren Angehörige direkt vor Ort.

Stärkung der Unterstützung: Bessere rechtliche Rahmenbedingungen für Dienste, die Angehörige im Alltag entlasten.

Prävention & Verbleib im häuslichen Umfeld: Förderung vorbeugender Maßnahmen, um Pflegebedürftigen ein möglichst langes Leben in der eigenen Wohnung zu ermöglichen.

Flankierende Maßnahmen im ersten Halbjahr 2026

Parallel zum neuen Landesgesetz treten zum 1. Januar 2026 weitere Regelungen in Kraft, die den Rahmen für das Gesetzesvorhaben bilden:

Finanzierung der Pflegeausbildung: Das Thüringer Landesverwaltungsamt hat bereits den Gesamtfinanzierungsbedarf für die generalistische Pflegeausbildung für 2026 festgelegt.

Nachbarschaftshilfe: Bestehende Übergangsregelungen zur Anerkennung von Nachbarschaftshilfe wurden bis Ende 2025 verlängert, um nahtlos in die neuen gesetzlichen Regelungen ab 2026 überzugehen. Ergo: weiter kein Kurs nötig.

Bundesrechtliche Verzahnung: Das Land Thüringen hat im Bundesrat erwirkt, dass das bundesweite „Gesetz zur Befugniserweiterung in der Pflege“ (Inkrafttreten 2026) keine finanziellen Nachteile für Krankenhäuser verursacht, was den Handlungsspielraum für die Landesgesetzgebung absichert.

Der aktuelle Fortschritt des Entwurfs kann über das Thüringer Landtags-Informationssystem unter dem Stichwort „Pflegeentwicklungsgesetz“ (noch? NICHT) nachverfolgt werden.

Ernie Anderson was such an incredible voice over legend. A voice built from 100% raw gravitas. His network TV voice-overs in the 1980s were a large part of the appeal of ABC for me. And he knew his worth and, according to him, ABC handsomely compensated for that sound. (Can you imagine the guy who replaced him? Jesus, what big shoes to fill.)

Been listening to interviews with him and he seemed like a really amazing, charming, fowl-mouthed guy in civilian life. :)

Here's his final interview in 1996, apparently. He passed in early 1997.
