So, I found a watch that is close to a daily wear #watch for me... This Chameri is from Tactical Frog. It features the markers I like (but could be better), dauphine hands (but still could be nicer), a blued second hand, decent 316L case (but could be better finished), a cream-colored watch face (very smooth, but could be something more interesting texture-wise), and a leather strap (I changed the original alligator textured strap for a longer strap to fit me). And It has a 4bps mech-quartz movement. The biggest criticisms are the mineral glass crystal and no day/date complication.

Interestingly, it has 100M water resistance with a screw down crown (unsigned -- which could be better), and a screw down case back. I didn't originally have higher water resistance on my list (50M would be fine, IMO), but it's nice to have 100M.

So, in my quest for my ideal daily wear #watch - I started with the #Seiko SNE525. This watch has a really nice rehaut, nice markers, solar movement, great stainless steel case and watch band. The problems are: the hands more like daggers instead of dauphine, the day/date window is too small and unframed, the day/date isn't color matched (although I think this is likely to be nearly impossible to find unless I find something that is at a higher price point), and the markers are too thin.

On the whole, this is a really nice watch for under $200.... But onward I go looking for my ideal watch.

I don't wear this Casio too much, which is a shame as it's pretty terrific. Nothing fancy, just a nice simple solar ani-digi, but it absolutely has the biggest solar panels I've ever seen on a Casio. Yesterday I was at a #TagHeuer / #Formula1 event to celebrate both the return of TH as the official sponsor of F1 and the Grand Prix of #Canada. Obviously cars, #watches and enthusiasts of both hobbies everywhere. The Formula 1 car and driver suit of Red Bull Racing were exhibited along with a few iconic TH watches. Very good vibes with cocktails and music handled by a DJ. Thank you Leon for organizing, hosting and inviting us. #watchesofmastodon

A lot of watch reviewers dislike audible ticking. I like it. Sounds like a heartbeat. And when I'm on smoke break with my precious ten minutes of freedom, it's nice to have such a pretty thing on my wrist to time it by.

As an extra from #Credor, I got my hands on the new Locomotive and 2 Eichi II in white and blue. Look is obviously completely different despite common Genta heritage but the vibes and feel of the Locomotive were reminiscent of the Cartier Pasha for me. Nothing much of value to say about the Eichii II, they are just incredibly mesmerizing. I was just fascinated by the “purity” of the white porcelain dial and the subtle gradient of the black/blue lapis lazuli dial. #watches #watchesofmastodon
