panel 1: Lemuel is stoning the deck of a ship. Captain Morris and two attendants come up from below, one carrying a bundle of clothes.
Caption: A fortnight passed, and the captain returned with a small entourage.
Morris: I've told Lord Arome your story, and he is eager to meet you.
panel 2: Lemuel, now in absurd finery, gets into a black, gold-trimmed carriage. Morris and the others are behind him, waiting to get on.
Morris: Allow me to offer a bit of advice...
panel 3: wide shot of the carriage passing through New Byzantium; elaborate stone architecture, bridges, towers and domes visible everywhere. Voices come from the carriage.
Morris: Lord Arome may speak to you of his inventions, or his views on alchemy. His words mat sound somewhat...eccentric, but it's best to simply listen and accept.
Lemuel: I see... of course.
panel 4: The carriage arrives at a huge stately residence, surrounded by other carriages in many colors.
Lemuel: Singing spheres! How many carriages does Lord Arome keep?
Morris: Ah... those would belong top the other guests this evening.
panel 5: Inside the carriage, Lemuel looks uneasily from the window to Morris.
Morris: A great many folk are keen to meet you, my friend.

Panel 1. Lemuel and Denumar sit on the engine tower of the docked ship, looking out over the city. Denumar is contorted and looking at Lemuel upside down, but attentively. Lemuel: You jest, but... in truth, this planet holds no welcome for me. Even after all our troubles, I only want to be back out in the aether.
Panel 2. Close up of Lemuel's eyes and nose. Lemuel: Or failing that... aboard a landed ship. I will be preparing for our flight to Venus, and then embarking on that voyage. The captain said he might find a position for you as well...
panel 3. Close up of Denumar's eyes and nose, upside down. Denumar: With all respect, honored saddlegoose, the celestial vapors must have enfrailed your thought organs. I never assume the ridiculous positions that leaders of men insist upon. And I've quite had my fill of floating about on toothpicks.
panel 4. Lemuel remains sitting on the tower ledge while Denumar begins climbing down the ropes. Lemuel: Then... we part ways, it seems. Denumar--
Denumar: Tut! No hailwells just yet. We'll meet again before you push off, I'm certain.
Lemuel: Alright. Until then.
panel 5. Denumar moves off along the docks away from the ship, walking in his strange contorting way, looking back with a touch of wistfullness.

panel 1. bird's eye view of a balloon ship descending toward a dock, with masonry piers and buildings visible
panel 2. View of the ship docked, with a wide gangway laid down onto the dock's drawbridge, and some activity on the pier as unloading begins
panel 3. View looking down from above Lemuel, who sits with legs dangling off the edge of the engine deck at the top of the ship's balloon tower. Below, men with sacks are ready to descent below decks and disembark. Denumar is hanging off the side railing, looking up at Lemuel.
panel 4. Denumar climbs up the rigging to Lemuel, in an upside-down crab-walking position. Denumar: Behold, a horizon! I never cared for them in my youth, but it really is quite good. I fear I shan't be able to stand on Vulcan's still Earth after so long at sky! Will you come steady me, sir?
panel 5. Side view of Denumar and Lemuel. Denumar has contorted his body to cradle his chin in his feet as he listens. Lemuel: Ah... no, my friend. I'm staying aboard. To tend the balloon, and assist with other preparations...
panel 6. View looking past the side of Denumar's head. Lemuel wears a pained expression. Denumar: Oh, surely all that can wait. Come, be my guest in County Denumar. We'll ply you with ale until Earth feels as wobbly as any balloon-borne tub.

Panels 1 & 2: close up of the top of the hot air balloon. The circular piece in the center is a vent. A system of ropes and pulleys allows it to be opened and closed.
panels 3-5: Lemuel pulling on ropes from the engine deck with other sailors, and climbing up to maintain a baggywrinkle where a rope passes through the balloon. Caption: Happily, ballooneering came easy, as Captain Morris had suggested. I was soon venting and sealing with the others.
panel 6: large panel showing the ship, with balloon above decks and sails below, approaching planet Earth. Caption: As our Earth loomed closer and closer, I felt a growing and most unwelcome dread. Shallum said my uncle knew nothing of the plot... but why had ne placed me aboard his ship so readily?

panel 1. Closeup of Lemuel's face, taken aback. Lemuel: Sir! I... Morris: Forgive an old sea dog his directness, my boy. No doubt the wreck of your ship and the loss of your crewmates weighs on you.
panel 2. Lemuel and Morris sit across from each other at a small table in the captain's cabin. Morris: Still, I daresay those awful events have left you without immediate prospects. Lemuel: But...I must confess, I've never worked the balloon, only the masts and sails-- Morris: Pish-tosh. You'll master it in no time. You're a man whom fortune smiles on, Lemuel Rasmussen. Those who spend their days anchored to Earth may scoff at such notions, but we who trod the air know that luck is precious. It would bring I and my crew great happiness to count the sole survivor of Brimstone's wrath as one of us.
Panel 3. View of the cabin windows from outside the ship, in a purple and starry sky. Lemuel: Captain, it's a wonderful offer, of course I accept! But...I'm not the sole survivor, after all. What of Denumar? Morris: Well...it's true you both live, but your poor freind has lost his senses. We can't take on an incapable passenger...
panel 4. They leave the cabin, Morris places a hand on Lemuel's shoulder. Morris: Then again, twice the survivors carry twice the luck! Perhaps something can be arranged.

Panel 1: crewmen pull the limp forms of Lemuel and Denumar aboard a ship. Caption: I remember very little of the first few days. Denumar and I surrendered to our exhaustion as the crew of The Peregrine nursed us back to health.
Panel 2: Lemuel and Denumar unconscious in hammocks, tended by a man in a coat. Caption: It seems I raved in delerium somewhat. By the time I came back to awareness, They had gathered that we had survived what no one before us had the wrath of the pirate Brimstone.
panel 3: Lemuel sitting up in the dark, aware but anxious. Caption: By some miracle I said nothing of my disgrace on Luna. Or if I did, those ravings were insensible to the crew.
panel 4: Lemuel and Denumar on deck, surrounded by crewmen. One fingers Lemuel's sleeve. Caption: In any case, once we had regained our faculties, they questioned us eagerly about our adventure.
Crewman: Why do you wear such strange clothes?
Denumar: Ah, you men have never been to Luna! Every sailor to that shore wears Lunatchik silk!
panel 5: a ship with a balloon on top and sails below sails a purple and starry sky. Caption: I did not speak ofShallum, or any of the signs of Earthborn treachery. I told them we had been working the poulsail when Brimstone's attack severed the masts, and only the two of us managed to hold on.

Full page comic panel. Lemuel stands inside The Grand Orerry, a mechanized model of the solar system after Kepler's design, with skeletal Platonic solids in between each orbit. Lemuel Is looking up at the model of Venus, which is green and inscribed with plant motifs. Behind him is a drawbridge that grants access between the Venus and Earth orbits. A wealthy man and woman point and gape at Lemuel. Behind them the models of Mars and Saturn are visible, and beyond that a great wall with rows of arches.
Title: Intermezzo
Caption: Venus, the flower of the Æther, was to be my next destination. I devoted all my thoughts to it, in order to ward off the unsettling feelings that returning to Earth had raised up in me. Forgive me dear ones, I am ahead of myself. For me our voyage home passed like a wisp of a dream. But you will want to know something of our rescue...

panel 1: two skymen on rope tethers, holding a hammock on long ropes that trail above them, drop toward the floating mast where Denumar floats tethered and Lemuel stands and waves. Denumar: Would you have my advice? Lemuel: I certainly would not.
panel 2: Lemuel and Denumar are in the hammock and being raised up. The two skymen hang onto the ropes. One calls upward, the other checks the safety of the rescued parties. Denumar: There you are, you've learned more than you know.
panel 3: a ship is visible above. The hammock and the two skymen are being hauled up and aboard.

On the off chance I do manage to put together a Shadow of the Weird Wizard game, do people have suggestions for modules from other systems that could easily drop into the weird Erth? I never have issues converting, it’s plots and interesting NPCs I always need help with.

I’m tempted to adapt King for a Day.

Comic page taking place in an environment of purplish clouds and golden stars.
panel 1: Denumar is out at the end of a ship's yardarm, holding a sword with a rope tied to the handle. Lemuel is hurriedly climbing along the ropes to reach Denumar.
Denumar: Better the belly of some beast that perched on this gallows! Come closer, you great buzzard-fish!
Lemuel: You will not throw that harpoon!
panel 2: Lemuel and Denumar grapple at the end of the yard. Lemuel grips Denumar's right wrist. Denumar attempts to lob the sword to his left hand.
panel 3: the sword catches in the loose ropes swirling around and severs the line.
panel 4: Lemuel and Denumar freeze in their struggle, watching the sword fly out of reach.
panel 5: view from over Lemuel's shoulder. The sword floats away with a short length of rope trailing behind it. Beyond, a massive, scaly, winged, serpentine creature flies off into the distance.

Comic page: all panels in an archaic style outer space, with purplish clouds and golden starbursts.
panel 1: a small fragment of blue scaly serpentine body is visible in the foreground. In the background floats a ship's mast with one sail unfurled.
panel 2: full view of the blue serpent, which has 2 sets of 4 feathery wings, tusks, a bony head crest, some bright stripes and golden belly scales. The mast floats behind it.
panel 3: A figure (Denumar) clings to the end of a yard, poised to throw a rapier with a rope trailing off it.
panel 4: View from the middle of the mast, where another figure (Lemuel) pushes his upper body out of a nest of knotted ropes and calls to Denumar on the yard far above him. A long blue tail coils beyond them. Lemuel: Denumar! What are you doing? Denumar: I've had my fill of chasing breezes!
panel 5: Wide view of the mast from Denumar's end, with Lemuel and the sail visible below, and the back and wings of the monster. Denumar: Let us hitch ourselves to that great wingpig and it will pull us along at speed!
Lemuel: That's a luscavier! It will tear us apart if you strike it!

Wordless comic page.
panel 1: Lemuel raises his head as if waking, in a ship's hammock.
panel 2: Lemuel raises himself up in alarm. Inside a ship's hull, the edge of the floor is on fire. Ebner points at the fire urgently. Two other crew are moving a cannon into position, as if to address the fire. One of them wears an alchemist hood.
panel 3: Lemuel struggles to reach his crewmates from his hammock which is now a net. The walls of the ship are gone. In place of the cannon is a metal monster, with a gaping mouth of huge spiky teeth and a thick chain forming a serpentine body. The fire catches on the chain and emerges from the metal mouth, or perhaps it bursts from the head back along the chain as well. The three crewmen jerk back from the flaming metal mouth. The alchemist hood is gone, revealing Shallum's face.
panel 4: Nothing remains of the ship. The metal maw is gigantic. Several men plummet into the fire between the jaws. Lemuel is now wrapped tightly in a net, hanging from a hook at the end of the huge chain, dangling over the firey throat.
panel 5: Lemuel jerks awake. He is on a wooden platform, sheltered by netting, the feet of the sleeping Denumar near his head.
panel 6: While Denumar sleeps, Lemuel sits up on the edge of platform, holding the netting on both sides, gazing into the starry æther.
