Einer bei uns in der Stadt macht so phantastische Figuren aus Draht oder gemalt. Joachim Scheffler, in einigen #SF -Büchern beim Heyne Verlag sind Illustrationen von ihm.
Das Atelier hier ist aber immer, schon seit immer zu, wenn ich vorbeikomme; kann nur von aussen reingucken. Was nicht den optimalen Blickwinkel für Fotos bietet, aber einen Eindruck.

I made this wire-wrapped jewelry last year in protest to the overturning of Roe v Wade.

This is a necklace pendant, about 5cm in total height. It involves silver wire wrapped around a blue labradorite stone. The stone makes up the body of an abstract “goddess” while the limbs are indicated by woven and spiraled silver wire that also hold the stone in place. The goddess’s “heads” are 3 small silver beads with spirals, representing the 3 aspects of the goddess: the maiden, the mother (depicted) and the crone.

This is the Goddess, after the style of ancient Venus figurines (such as the Venus of Willendorf). As such, features are played up or down according to their perceived importance to the figure and its meaning.

Like those figures, body parts linked with childbirth are exaggerated. Unlike those figures, body parts to do with child care—in this case, the breasts—are diminutive.

The Goddess, who has the power of life and death is in a noose. Her feet are bound in submission.

Her arms form the question she faces: to keep or to abort? That question is hers to make, and she is free to make it, regardless of the threat of death or the attempt to subdue her.

This is my protest against the overturning of Roe V Wade.

#WireArt update. I tried using 4 water crystals this time to build a base for a tree. The beads for the limbs are pretty and I have one more piece to add. But the base is not what I wanted it to be. Too wobbly still. Gonna have to admit these a-symmetric water crystals dont work for tree bases. I wonder for what then?

next mini tree is made of green copper wire, 26 gauge, and white gems. I tried another go with the blue vase stone thingy. But it falls over alot still.

Made a mini scepter with one of the gems. Sprinkled some gems for the picture

Some experimenting works. Leaf and a twist exercise. Having issues how to end the wrap.

I have a similar project but bigger. and I saw it in my head when I saw the bead.

2) angled ring w/ teal gem
my webbing on my hand makes it uncomfortable wearing rings, so I made a ring that fits my hand.

I was given this resin sparkly die from a friend saying "I'll know what to do with it." it was going to be a tree, it morphed into something from warframe I feel.
