but no like they could have just made each act a chapter and had 15 here… I guess it could be connected to the whole thing were after you beat the new content you go back to how things were after chapter 12 but still like why not like “Finale” or “Epilogue” for the new story… IDK Chapter 13 just always seemed weird to me here… now for more in depth spoilers

and Cauldros has ended up the most done (non NLA) region in DE… because of a character that requires 1000 prerequisites to unlock INCLUDING Cauldros 65% surveyed… so yeah… now on to the actual Definitive Edition content first of all WHY IS THE NEW STORY CONTENT ALL “Chapter 13” like seriously why each act is about a chapter long anyways (I’d argue 13-3 is actually 2 but still…) it’d be one thing if XCX ended on a chapter 14 cause 17 is an odd number to end on and 15 is perfect…
At long last I have beaten XCX DE (Chapter 13) before discussing the specifics of chapter 13 first a progress comparison between a main story of DE and my post game Wii U Primordia and Oblivia are a bit less here because I put more effort into doing segment recons of them in the Wii U post game while here I focused more on quests

Also side topic but in regards to the XCX DE switch 2 version my thoughts are to summarize I’m not getting it… cause unfortunately there is no new content at all… at the very least it’s apparently $5 US which is cheap even for just a “graphics booster”… also because it is just a “graphics booster” I don’t have to worry about spending $20 on new content :D

the best part is the only reason why I started this quest was because I went to do a heart to heart with a character I did not have in the Wii U version cause you need 65% of Cauldros surveyed to get this character and… well… Yeah I didn’t get that character…

the first time I ever heard anything about it was in Xenoblade Chronicles 2 during Perceval’s blade quest where the “bloody lobsters” are a group of assassins I thought “wow bloody lobsters is kind of a random name for a group of assassins” then I found out oh it’s actually a XCX reference to a quest that’s as obnoxious as bearing her soul from XC2

there was DEFINITELY a character in X who I WANTED to join up but then they didn’t and I was disappointed but they changed it for DE so I don’t know… either way didn’t get them in the Wii U version so basically 5 optional characters in Wii U compared to all but 1 in DE… (not counting chapter13Guy) is quite impressive…

As far as characters are concerned I got… most of them actually just missing 2 one of whom I’m 99.99% certain that they’re DE Exclusive since the game isn’t giving me a hint and the other is “the rookie” who I’m pretty sure I know who it is but also not sure if they were playable in the Wii U version like I think I did some of their quests there but…
