Very cool article. The legends about 80's Xerox and the PARC seem so mysterious and fascinating. How could such an innovative place fall apart so badly?

My review of the book "The Philosopher of #Palo_alto: Mark Weiser, #Xerox_PARC, and the Original Internet of Things" by John Tinnell has been published. A very readable book, especially where it leaves the biographical and becomes more systematic and structural #IoT, #internethistory #UbiComp: https://muse.jhu.edu/article/933130
Just finished my review of John Tinnell’s „The philosopher of #PaloAlto: Mark #Weiser, #Xerox_PARC, and the original #internetofthings“. For me the most relevant insights of the book are *not* those that deal with Weiser’s biography, but those that explain how the nascent concepts of the computerization of the human environment emerged in a multi-layered figuration of actors and their experimentation with technologies. The review will be published in „Technology & Culture“ #IoT #ComAI
