I found an old notebook and was reminded that Yahoo Pipes existed! Anyone else remember that awesome little utility? It was a web-interface that let you pull web content, RSS feeds, and other data sources together- and then filter and combine them into something new. I wonder if there is something like this that still exists.

I needed a tool for a hobby project, and I had a vague memory of something that would fit the bill. After a little searching, I found that I was thinking of something that's been dead for 8 years.

@glennf Piotr Adamczyk’s work with Yahoo Pipes and museum data was pretty cool, by which I mean really impressive. Some surviving traces of it:

@glennf Filtering and combining RSS feeds.

Some sites didn’t have tag-specific feeds, but you could filter by that data with #YahooPipes.

There were several pop culture blogs covering TV shows I watched, so I would filter and combine them into single feeds about each show.
