it’s all very unintuitive, and you get to do all of this while listening to the same four or five music tracks until you want to find whatever #hiphop artist coined the practice of going “UH, UH, YEAH” in place of lyrics and push a small volume of Shakespearean sonnets down his windpipe. - #Yahtzee - Tales from the giant robot fairy -#ZeroPunctuation / #FullyRamblomatic https://zeropunctuation.fandom.com/wiki/Xenoblade_Chronicles_X" #Rap in a #nutshell "

#Yahtzee is right the moment he says that about #DoomTheDarkAges, and all games.

🌘 GitHub - charliemeyer/yahtzeeql:主要使用 SQL 的 Yahtzee 解題器
➤ 利用 SQL 破解 Yahtzee 的最佳策略
✤ https://github.com/charliemeyer/yahtzeeql

🎲🔍 Behold, the pinnacle of human achievement: solving #Yahtzee with SQL! Because clearly, what the world desperately needed was a way to make both board games and databases even more #insufferable. 🙄💾

#Yahtzee on #SecondWind has a go at vocalising his thoughts on #roguelike #games (or perhaps #roguelite
His main take on it seems to be that the #ProcGen elements facilitates "easier" and "speedier" #GameDev.
I think his frustration is based more on an oversaturation of the #roguelike "marketing label" being splashed on anything that cherry picks a few mechanics that originate from the #TraditionalRoguelike palette.

#ThreeGoodThings #ReasonsToBeCheerful
1. Had a lovely dinner with NM. Smoked turkey legs and loaded mashed potatoes. all homemade.
2. Snagged The Sims 25th Birthday Bundle with The Sims 1, The Sims 2 and all the accompanying packs.
3. Played three rounds of Yahtzee with NM. I won 2/3, but regardless, it was nice actually playing a "board" game again for a change. Reminds me of the good ole' days.

1/2 For #dinner tonight I made my own gumbo — chicken andouille sausage, vegetable, spices, rice. It’s a one-pot winner.
Then my 17yo and I played #Yahtzee — which is actually my own Yahtzee from when I was a kid in the ‘70s. He won, and was very happy about it, lol.
I did these activities purposefully & in the spirit of a quote I posted yesterday:
“I know it's not the year we were hoping for, but it is the year we will make of it.” -Alison Gill (Mueller She Wrote), Daily Beans Podcast
Seeing a post on Yahtzee rolls and their distribution made me wonder: are there any RPGs out there with mechanics based on #Yahtzee or similar systems? Would advantage/disadvantage be best represented by more/fewer #dice, or available rerolls?
Alternatively, are there dice pool systems that offer specific "targets" rather than (or in addition to) counting success/failure, i.e. "if you can roll a 1 through 6 straight, it's a critical success" or similar? Or something involving poker dice?
Because I was seduced by glamour of the 5d6 discussion brought on by @Firr a week ago, I've continued developing breakdowns of single-5d6 rolls.
Those sums make up a lovely distribution, don't they?
@fundamental @Firr You and I have very similar styles methinks. I did the same thing on Bluesky. #Yahtzee #5d6
