“A Fleeting Glimpse”
The only look I got of a Williamson’s sapsucker, along Blacktail Plateau drive, Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming. I searched for over an hour for him after this siting to no avail.

“Down the Hatch”
An American dipper with a large in vertebrate, that it wound up swallowing, at Lehardys Rapids on the Yellowstone River, Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming.

“A Cautious Mother”
A female common merganser and young ones near Lewis Channel during a recent trip to Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming. I was very sneaky and keeping my distance to get a sufficiently clear shot, but I didn’t fool her.

“In Its Element”
An American dipper working the Yellowstone River at Lehardys Rapids, catching and eating aquatic bugs and larvae. I just returned from a camping trip in Yellowstone National Park. I went there just to do birding, which is unusual for me (not the birding part, but that this would be my focus in Yellowstone). This video captures the essence of an American dipper, which are always a joy to watch.
