Today, November 4th, we remember #YitzhakRabin (1922–1995) war hero, prime minister, and a man who dreamed of a strong and peaceful Israel.

He was assassinated by an Israeli extremist during a peace rally in Tel Aviv. He wasn’t killed by an enemy —he was killed by internal hatred, by intolerance toward dialogue and difference.
His death reminds us that Israel’s greatest threats don’t always come from outside.

C’est l’anniversaire des 30 ans de l’assassinat d’Yitzhak Rabin. Sur LCP, il y a un bon doc sur « Les derniers jours d’Yitzhak Rabin » Le doc date de 2005, mais il est impec. C’est peut-être mieux encore de le voir en sachant qu’il est vieux de 20 ans.

Vous n’imaginez pas à quel point cet assassinat m’a bouleversé, il y a 30 ans. Le doc rend bien compte de la haine qui se déversait sur Rabin, largement instrumentalisée par Nétanyahou et Sharon. La manif pacifiste qui a précédé son assassinat est très émouvante. Quelle tragédie ! Nous en payons encore le prix aujourd’hui.

Yigal Amir, che assassinò l'ex Primo Ministro #YitzhakRabin nel 1995, credeva che #Rabin rappresentasse una minaccia esistenziale per lo Stato di Israele.
Non sono molti gli israeliani che pensano che questo abbia dato ad Amir la licenza di uccidere il primo ministro.

Ora Israele pensa che Khamenei sia una minaccia esistenziale, e quindi è autorizzato ad ucciderlo: “Omicidio” è la parola giusta, la più precisa.

Se mettiamo da parte l'assunto che Israele ha inventato per sé, secondo il quale gli è permesso fare ciò che è vietato al resto del mondo, è molto difficile affrontare queste domande.

Affermare che Israele è un caso speciale, perché a noi tutto è permesso, perché siamo sopravvissuti all'Olocausto e al massacro del 7 ottobre, non regge. Anche il mondo comincia a stancarsi.
