Exploring Pwllhelli and Nefyn on the Llyn Peninsula was fun today. Views of Yr Wyddfa, miles of golden sand, kit surfers complimented some excellent walks 🥾🥾💚 #Pwllhelli #Nefyn #LynnPeninsula #YrWyddfa #KiteSurfing #Traeth #Cerdded #Wales #Cymru.
Honestly, if you don't know what you're doing, just stay at home and watch a nice film instead. #YrWyddfa #Eryri #Cymru #Wales
BBC News - Easter walkers warned after record rise in call-outs
https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/ce3vy91wvyvo
10yrs ago tonight apparently I was climbing Mount Snowdon at night for @careintuk for a sunrise summit
1. Sheltering from the wind behind the railway embankment
2. Summit 'Selfies'
3. Entering the woods at the base of the mountain.
4. Snowdonia, Llanberis
If you come, please only park where you're supposed to. No, you can't just overflow onto the land if the car parks are full. Be kind and respectful to the land you're visiting. Don't leave any litter behind. Wear sensible shoes so you don't waste the time of Mountain Rescue. Don't defecate on the mountain, especially not on the paths (yes it happens). If not, please just don't come at all. #YrWyddfa #Eryri
BBC News - Parking plea at beauty spot to avoid Easter chaos.
No photos from our walk up #YrWyddfa (#Snowdon) yesterday because I was too frustrated on the climb and seething by the time we reached the summit.
The lower part was mostly great, we walked from Rhyd Ddu on the Snowdon Ranger extension through the quarry before heading up the Snowdon Ranger path proper and didn't see another soul.
Just after the quarry the litter started; food packets, water bottles, cider cans, dog poo bags a lunchbox and a safety blanket. The further we went up the more litter we found and picked up.
By the time we got back down i had filled half of a 65 litre backpack with rubbish, it is so frustrating.
More than frustrating and bordering on rage inducing were the people setting off "party poppers" from the summit to see how far the rubbish would blow or the idiot who spat to see where it would blow! Yeah, the wind was blowing TOWARDS people.
I despair of people sometimes but at least I know there must be other people gathering rubbish or Snowdon and other mountains would be nothing but mounds of rubbish.
Rant over.
Just back from helping a friend clear her mam's house at #Beddgelert in #Cymru. I've been fortunate enough to visit some beautiful places but Beddgelert village and its surroundings are some of the best.
Nestled in the shadow of Moel Hebog, Beddgelert is a delight.
We managed to find time for a couple of walks down the Glaslyn gorge and Jethro introduced himself to Rawley Clay's fantastic bronze statue of Gelert.
My only regret was climbing #YrWyddfa instead of going up #MoelHebog, a good reason to visit again in my book!
