@jrovu I’ve been using #Zettlr for about two months, and it suits me well. I jot down notes when I learn something new, review them after a few days, then turn them into mini essays. I sync with #Markor on mobile to read notes on the go. I haven’t used Zettlr for online publishing, but are you basically building your own personal wiki with that? :ablobcathappypaws: Sounds really interesting!!!

@itlaw How has your experience been with #Zettlr ? What's been working out great, what's confusing, and frustrations/flow-breakers?

I am trying to find a solid note taking / linking / publishing system, #OpenSource.

Right now, I'm somewhat using VSCodium+FOAM, #Obsidian, and the publishing system is not easy - MkDocs + Rsyncing to an AWS S3 bucket / static site.

Finding a good note-taking and storage system is an adventure I've been pursuing for well over 10 years. I like Obsidan for its knife edge, but before that I explored other interesting solutions such as #Zettlr.

Zettlr stills powerfull and simple to make and organise writing work.

ok so it seems like they are transitioning to some new system, while also somehow keeping the old one (?)
#logseq has a lot of open issues, most of them don't seem to get resolved. On Android, I can only use backspace to delete blocks if I use GBoard or Samsung Keboard - no FOSS keyboard :((
And I've read some things about data loss and privacy issues when using the "publish" feature.
I think I'll try something else. Any suggestions? I'm considering #joplin , #appflowy , #siyuan , #beavernotes , #zettlr

#LogSeq​, #Zettlr​, #Obsidian​, #BoostNote​의 공통점은 #Electron​으로 만들었다는 것. 그리고 기본적으로 Markdown 편집기라는 것. Electron이 편집기 만들 때 편한가?

@ryanoneill1970 You seem to be using these tools for similar projects to me. I have used #Scrivener for writing for a few years, but recently discovered #Zettlr @zettlr , which had I discovered earlier, I might not have gone to Scrivener. It's #markdown and exports nicely via #Pandoc or #Latex #genealogy #familyhistory

I've been using #Logseq since July 8th, 2023 — it's almost been two years! Logseq is a great app, but as a researcher, I've found the bullet-point structure a bit limiting, especially since my work eventually needs to be published as a Word document. Today, I installed #Zettlr — time to try it out!

@HarmonthSeeker use a markdown editor, for export to #Word #Pandoc is the best or at least you look at #Zettlr. #pandoc converts in a terminal window (Mac, Win, Linux) to a lot of formats, Latex, HTML, word, PDF and so on. #zettlr convert to InCopy (and Word and Latex and PDF and so on).

I have a problem. An addiction to trying new word processors (aka #writing apps). ✍️

I've got #Scrivener, #LibreOffice, #OnlyOffice, #Pages, #Byword, and recently worked in #MSWord, #GoogleDocs, #Ulysses, and #AiWriter. Oh, and I've played around with #Zettlr, too. I can't stop. 😓

I'm a fan of #markdown and #opensource. Go ahead, make my life more complicated...what app do you think I should try?
