Contemplating moving to #ZorinOS with #Win10 going #windows10eol but I'll likely go #dualboot for a while and see how that goes. Main concern is #linux_gaming on #NvidiaRTX #steam so will keep the #win10 option as a secondary OS. #Win11 has zero appeal to be honest

J'en s'est à Linux Mint, parce que mes éleves de college s'y retrouvent et que je veux utiliser la meme en perso et famille. Je me disperse déjà assez comme ça 😉

@BrideOfLinux I installed #zorinos 2 months ago on my ex Windows laptop. It's faster, cleaner, & more intuitive.

#Microsoft is advertising their migration tool as a new option for #Windows10 losing support on 2025-OCT-14. This option includes upgrading to a new computer.

If you want to keep using you current computer that does not meet #Windows11 requirement, I highly recommend a #Linux distrubution.

Me voilà avec 3 distributions #linux différentes sur 3 configs : #linuxmint installé du 1er coup. #q4os seul à avoir réussi à s'installer sur un HP Pavilion à la C... Et #ZorinOS qui a fini par se lancer en faisant du forcing boot USB
Et vous c'est quoi vos distributions préférées et pourquoi ?

Le mystère des #PC : ma "vieille" tour de + de 10 ans faisait sa récalcitrante pour booter sur des clés USB pour installer #linux
Finalement j'ai l'idée de faire apparaitre le "boot device menu" en faisant F8 et j'arrive à lancer l'installation de #ZorinOS qui est à présent en cours...

@Edith_Boulo J'ai vu passer cette discussion ces jours-ci proposant #ZorinOS comme alternative à #MsWindows. C'est argumenté.

Bonjour @nicolasvivant j'ai une question : est-ce que tu avais détaillé quelque part (conf., article de blog ou autre) les raisons précises et complètes du choix de #ZorinOS en tant que distribution pour vos postes clients à @echirolles ? Je suis un gros flemmard pour faire des recherches dans ta foisonnante publication en ligne, et je cherche des distributions candidates pour primo-utilisateurs GNU Linux dans le cadre de travaux associatifs et citoyens (opération "Windows sors de ce corps" 😁 )

@5klp471 Te recomiendo #ZorinOs es bastante parecido a windows es de instalar y usar enseguida. Viene con una app fácil de instalar de compatibilidad de programas de windows muy útil. Cero complicaciones.

The laptop and Studio One found my old midi keyboard in no time. It was plug and play. The latency is totally usable.

The next thing I need to solve is, why Studio One sometimes freezes when I wan’t to open/close windows (like close instrument, open mixer etc…).

I didn’t experience this with Bitwig, so it could be a Beta problem (Studio One Linux is in beta still).

As mentioned: Studio One is up and running with a Jack server and Zoom H6 as Audio interface.

I have now installed all the add ons from Presonus, software instruments, loops, samples, extra plugins etc…

I had this strange issue, where the download would stall once in a while, and I had to force-quit and start over with the file. This is not only Studio One related, tried it with Epic Games Launcher through Bottles too.

Hab ich eigentlich schon erwähnt, dass wir Dänemark im kleinen Stil proben?
Noch dieses Jahr werden wir hier im Betrieb nicht nur den Windows Server einmotten, sondern auch die Clients auf Linux umstellen ... der erste kleine PC (der das Update zu Windows 11 nicht geschafft hat) mit #ZorinOS ( #ubuntu ) 'drauf läuft bereits zur Eingewöhnung und schnell wie eine Rakete.
