"We know that in 1933 not a single academic staff member [at University of Tuebingen] was a member of the #Nazi Party. However, between 1933 and 1935 things started to change very quickly. The authorities ordered the university to make structural changes. The university soon lost its administrative authority. Amongst the professors, or amongst the academic subjects the Nazis were obviously most interested in taking over subject areas that were most closely linked to their ideology, for example, life sciences and in particular medicine. At the same time, they wanted to promote research into their idea of the Germanic peoples and the Aryan race and everything that was associated with that. They wanted to create a scientific background to this, and archaeology was an important subject in this respect."

French Agora Sciences University Research (ASUR) meetings on 16 and 17 June for a reorganisation of the University and research
Agora Sciences University Research (ASUR) is a new cross-party think tank drawn from the University and research community. Its objective is to develop a renewed vision of the University and research, their missions, institutions and procedures. It aims to promote intellectual, political and legislative reflection on the scientific and university system to be built over the coming decade. ASUR will hold its founding meeting on 16 and 17 June at the Cordeliers site of Paris Cité University.

In a detention hearing on Thurs, Nadine Pellegrini, an asst US attorney, said the govt agreed w/ #KseniiaPetrova’s defense on terms of release, allowing her to return home to her Boston apartment while awaiting her next court date.
Petrova, who was dressed in an orange jumpsuit for the hearing, emerged from custody in a T-shirt that read “Hakuna matata,” & embraced Marc Kirschner, the scientist who heads up her lab at #Harvard Medical School.
Lawyers for the government have said they intend to #deport #KseniiaPetrova to #Russia, a country she fled for political reasons in 2022. She has said that if she returns, she fears arrest or even death because of her #activism.
