You wouldn’t lock your door to paying customers—so why make your business inaccessible? From malls to hospitals to airports, blind and low vision people want to shop, travel, and spend just like everyone else.
Accessibility isn’t just the right thing to do—it’s revenue.

GAAD is our kind of celebration – because accessibility isn’t extra, it’s essential.

Want to make your content more accessible? Start with alt text. Without it, images are invisible to blind and low vision users. With it, everyone gets to be part of the story. 🖼️🔤

The word “Before” and the alt text below it says, “Party Time.” There is a photo of a group of five friends wearing party hats gather indoors. One person holds a cake with lit candles while the others smile and laugh, celebrating happily. Warm lights glow softly in the background, creating a festive atmosphere. The word “After” with the alt text below it, “Five friends celebrating as the birthday girl is about to blow out candles on a chocolate birthday cake.”The word “Before” with alt text below, “a pie chart.” There is a photo of a pie chart with the small portion labeled “Accessible” and the large portion labeled “Inaccessible”.The word “After” with the alt text below saying, “Pie chart showing 70% of websites are inaccessible to people with disabilities."

My #WordPress website is finally back to normal—and maybe even a little improved! 😅 I spent all night undoing the damage caused by someone who offered to "help" but left my site in chaos. 🚩 Lesson learned: be cautious about who you trust with your work.

The one challenge I still haven’t solved is making my #portfolio filterable by project type. With 13+ projects and growing, this feature is becoming essential! Ironically, this was my original request for help before things went sideways. 😬 The person not only messed up my site but also claimed it wasn’t responsive (I can’t verify that myself as I’m #Blind, but no one else has reported issues) and tried to take over. Now I’m back to square one—but wiser!

I’m using Jetpack's built-in portfolio feature, which unfortunately doesn’t support filtering natively, along with the GeneratePress Premium theme. If anyone has tips or workarounds for creating a filterable portfolio with these tools, I’d love your advice! 🙏

Looking for a sighted person familiar with #WordPress and also preferably #GeneratePress to help with the visual aspects of my #website. Please don't offer if you expect me to pay, as I have multiple #disabilities and can't afford to do so. This would be purely voluntary and to help me out with the site.

Anton Sten recently realized that accessible design isn't just about adhering to technical guidelines - it's about creating products that work for anyone, in any situation.

Proposer une option pour prolonger une session utilisateur ? Voilà une bonne pratique d' pour vos parcours . Merci à @AccessiblyS pour ce (Critère 13.1 du )
RT @AccessiblyS: Accessibility Tip

Give users enough time to complete tasks without timeouts. Provide options to extend sessions, especially for those who may need more time, such as users with disabilities. This improves usability and fosters inclusivity.
