Thirty-five days, thirty head-tilting contradictions: from elevators that *never* break to cafés that shun outdoor tables, from bullet-train punctuality to websites that “sleep” at night. Roll with me through Japan’s elegant chaos—where radical accessibility and rigid rule-books somehow coexist—and see why I left with a lighter suitcase, a happier stomach, and a head full of marvels.

🌍✨ This week, the Aira team is attending the Travel Ability Summit in San Francisco alongside accessible travel partner Flight for Sight! Each year, Flight for Sight awards three $10,000 travel grants, empowering blind and low vision individuals to design and lead transformative travel projects.

Past grant winners have brought white canes to Ghana, introduced blind sports in Italy, and shared accessible design insights from Japan with the U.S. The grant has also empowered a blind DJ's tour of Europe and supported a blind photographer in capturing stunning photography across America’s landscapes.

As a proud sponsor, Aira will continue to provide visual interpreting services to grant winners, ensuring accessibility, independence, and support on their journeys.

Check out the projects this incredible organization is bringing to life and apply today!

With some recent help, I was able to add a few more items to my tactile museum list. Currently, there is 24, but I belive that there must be hundreds if not thousands, as often times museums don't advertise that they have a tactile area, or they would offer tours on request.
So, here is the list, please let me know if you are aware of more museums:

Channel 4 broadcast Fight to Fly last week, it is a deeply upsetting watch to see fellow humans being treated with such lack of decency. Laws and attitudes towards disabled people need to change - help raise awareness and support the Rights on Flights campaign.

After we had a conversation about how to use Airtags in travel for blind people, I was honored when Jessica Hipp asked me to write about it on the WayAround blog. I compared the use of Airtags and WayTags, concluding that they significantly contribute to my travel. I should have started using them years ago.
