@alshra @pelielios I'm a physically disabled avid gardener so always look for less labour intensive ways to get things done in yards & gardens. I used the pickaxe, while sitting in a chair. I use an old free golf bag to store long handled garden tools because it's easier on my body to wheel the bag around & it's perfect size to store the tools.
Adventures in dry #Gardening part ?
Still haven't planted, groundhog problem, plus was hospitalized. My husband didn't water, .10 inches of rain. So this is 5 days without care. I think they'd all be dead w/ conventional practices! Obviously going to water today but I want to show the ugly along with the good
Two weeks later! Here are the tomatoes, eggplants & peppers. Used the dry #Gardening technique of watering once a day. Sprinkled in new seeds where the germination was poor. You can see the size differences, but I find it doesn't matter long term. Big revelation for this perfectionist!
As my #disability progresses, I 've had to change my #garden practices. Going to keep track as #AdaptiveGardening & welcome insights
1. Can't sort seeds - so I spill seeds into dirt. No more little pots
2. Can't commit to watering several times a day inside - trying dry #gardening & committed to watering once a day as an experiment
It's going OK! Yes, had some seedling losses, but not as many as I expected.
