Pupper snugs are helping me cope. She just crawled up here, laid her head down, & fell asleep on me 🥰 Chai is in a muzzle, harness, and leash (dragging) in the house for now, at the advice of a professional. Basically, she needs a slow introduction, and we've learned that's normal when bringing a shelter dog into a home with existing pets. Fingers crossed the training continues to go well & we can be her forever home.

#WinstonDog sure can be a dummy sometimes, but boy do we love this guy. He stopped running and sat perfectly in the sun for a great photo op.

We are happy to announce that he has found a forever home here on Lesvos.
In the end, his wonderful new family named him with a very grand name.

Or Barrie for short.
Baran means rain in farsi as it was pouring with rain when his new mum and dad came to meet him.
Mcnab is the closest breed name that his family could find.
He has settled in really well and loves his new family and big brother.
This week we will go back to the vet for his second round of vaccinations and update his papers with his very grand name❤️

WELCOME HOME “CARUSO”, originally known as Mr. Love. Adopted on President’s day weekend, Saturday 18 February 2023, and arriving home with us on Ash Wednesday 22nd.

I first saw Mr. Love online at #SanJose Animal Care Center, and was immediately captured by his photogenic handsomeness, so I was quick to make the trip and visit him at the kennel.

Caruso has a wiry-haired charcoal-black coat with white markings on his chest and feet. Long tail; small floppy ears; and fine, feathery mustache and beard. I think his actual looks are a bit operatic… so his name. We also brought along my other dog, “Brunelleschi”, also known as Bruno. We all got along alright, and it was a good match; plus, Caruso will be a young buddy for Bruno, who’s now 13 years old (since being adopted in 2009, and originally known as Brownie, like the rich chocolate cake). On his first day with us, Caruso went out to the shopping mall, driving around the city, and ultimately home to see Bruno again, play together, find new toys, and enjoy a few strands of spaghetti to eat. It’s been a marvelous, joyous day, and Caruso quickly adapted to his ride in the automobile, and his way around the house, as well as quitely and contently resting aside us at the dinner table, and later on the sofa. He’s a happy boy! Caruso is named for the legendary Italian operatic tenor, but the word is also a Sicilian dialect for “boy”. Which, by the way, I often refer to Bruno as “little boy” or “bambino”, because he survives Napo, Josie, and Bianca, who were the original pack or dog family. Bruno actually came into the pack as the “baby” when Napo died, but he became the sole survivor in the last year. Today, Bruno became the new alpha or papa to Caruso, who’s probably about one year old, more or less.On the first day home, Caruso quietly watched us eat dinner, either sitting or laying on a blanket on the floor, and at the side… sometimes under the chair or table.Caruso quickly learned to play and call me to attention. He kindly, invitingly jumped to my lap.Meeting Caruso for the first time at the kennel on Saturday 18 February 2023, President’s Day Weekend. There are so many dogs and people visiting that it’s a lot for them to focus, but he was certainly pleasant and happy to meet. It’s somewhat appropriate that his original name at the kennel is “Mr. Love”, since we found him just after Valentines Day.
