#affine

I just found #affine today, and I am very tempted to replace #logseq with it.

Main points:
- Sync seems pretty simple and you can self host
- collaboration features. You can easily share notes and canvases with your team and colleagues.

Anybody has an opinion on this?

#affine
- open source but proprietary data format
- can show workspaces over different storage types (cloud, self-host, local-only) all at once
- can't automatically export/publish/backup whole spaces as Md

#anytype
- open source but proprietary data format
- can share/sync P2P
- cannot automatically E/P/B whole spaces as Md

#Obsidian
- closed source but open data format
- advanced data types are "dirty" (not standard) and depend on plugins
- share/sync/publish is paid or external

Ok need help from the #pkm people

I love #notion for the ability to have great templates great visual style easy remote publishing easy integration

I like #obsidian since it's offline first super fast clean and simple

I get stuck with notion due to it being a heaping pile of garbage in terms of performance and I get stuck in obsidian since every basic thing seems to require tons of setup such as publishing pages (withought paying through selfhosting) templates of things is rough creating spreadsheet comparison type tables is tough

Been looking at #anytype #affine #appflowy and finding myself going in circles

Help plez

Slackware Cloud Server Series, Episode 10: Workflow Management

For my Slackware Cloud Server series of articles, we are going to have a look at a system for workflow management, personal note taking and all kinds of other collaborative features.

This is really, really good.

The self-hosting capability is new and so a little tiny bit janky, but the product is just lovely to use.

I'm going to spend some time snooping around the database tomorrow to see how manageable exports/backups will be in case I ever want to move away, but so far I am very impressed.

For anyone curious about it, their cloud offering is here: affine.pro/

I've never really found the perfect knowledge management solution. vim-orgmode did me well for a long time, but I started sprinkling in diagrams at some point and found perfection with Obsidian and Syncthing, but corporate IT necessitates I have a web interface.

I'm tentatively trying #Affine at the moment. #FOSS, #selfhosted, and does everything I want, but a little bit janky — but it seems excellent.

I'm possibly going to try #DocMost too.

@Leah btw syncthingfork could stay.. for pkm i use #Hypernotes (Zenkit) since years.. its a cloud service but its a neat small german company... its like logseq but you can integrate tasks.

another interesting Tool could be #Affine.. an Hybrid between logseq and digital whiteboard. but its in development

@estevez Have you tried appflowy.io/ ?
I'm choosing between #AFFiNE and #AppFlowy and can't decide which one to stay with. AppFlowy seems to have a more familiar UI (similar to #Notion), but AFFiNE has an edgeless mode that might be a handy option for visualizing diagrams or networks.

Yesterday I set up #Outline as a household wiki. It has very nice UI. Also very convenient on mobile.
The #TIL of yesterday was that my #Synology #NAS could be an #OIDC provider. Outline doesn’t have its own authentication.

Then I discovered #AFFiNE
There is a huge potential hiding behind that weird name. I now have both of them #selfhosted for testing and choosing the one.
