I lived in Bedfordshire in my young years and the UK version of the Goodyear airship flew out of Cardington, Bedford. Always a joy to see an airship.
Sadly never got to see "the flying bum".

Now that got me thinking. Helium is expensive and doesn't offer quite the lift of hydrogen. Hydrogen is much less expensive, and can also act as a fuel. The trouble is it takes little to ignite it as in the case of the Hindenburg.
