The warm, dark tunnel frames a chaotic landscape of crooked buildings, overgrown greenery, and discarded objects sinking into murky waterโ€”as if the outside world has lost its balance. Meanwhile, the character lounging inside the burrow feels strangely calm, smoking and listening to music, almost detached from whatever collapse is happening overhead. The colors shift between dull greens and broken grays outside, contrasted with the softer browns inside the tunnel, suggesting a tension between awareness and avoidance. Who cares if theyโ€™ve been around for a half-century, this whimsical album cover says it all both in its title and the hilarious image. Each of the four washing machines is personalized to epitomize each the four (4) band members from guitarist and lyricist Rick Nielsenโ€™s checker-flagged fashions to a soapy โ€œZโ€ for lead singer Robin Zander in the second machine onward. Hey, and the new music is pretty damn good too. Well done!
