I think I have a UTI. Apparently, there is no such thing as nitrofurantoin (aka Macrobid) that doesn't have corn derived excipients.

There's cephalexin (Keflex) that doesn't have corn, manufactured by Lupin. I hope I can get it here & that it works as well.

People with extreme, life-threatening allergic reactions might do as well to use a nasal spray as jab themselves in a thigh with an EpiPen, a new evidence review says.

Adrenaline delivered with liquid or powder nasal sprays is as effective, and sometimes even better, than injected adrenaline, researchers reported Tuesday at the European Emergency Medicine Congress in Vienna.

The post-nasal drip is really, really bad tonight. Like, enough to interfere with concentrating on anything, because it's so distracting.

Nonetheless, I managed to get an hour of #writing done. Only 446 words, but also some outline notes and stuff. And a little bit of file reorg, as I realized that I may need to write this scene from 2 different POVs and then decide which one I prefer.

Okay, gotta see if there's any drugs in the house that will clear up my nose...

Comme si mes invalidants #TroublesDuSommeil et mes #ApnéesDuSommeil ne suffisaient pas à détruire mon quotidien, voici que des #allergies chroniques récentes doublées d' #asthme étouffant irritent ma gorge et mes poumons.
Ma trachée semble gonfler et devenir rêche et aucune position n'améliorant le passage de l'air, je finis par m'étouffer dès les 1ères 20 mn d'endormissement, après 1 heure à péniblement déglutir.
Je viens de passer 2 semaines alité, terrassé de fatigue, ne sortant que contraint.
Je pense être en train de perdre de nombreux points de vie, sans pouvoir mettre en pause, sauvegarder ni recommencer.

Abstract

The relationship between genetically determined polymorphic metabolism and susceptibility to allergic diseases has aroused much interest. The aim of our study was to evaluate whether patients with allergic diseases, like atopic asthma and allergic rhinitis differ from healthy persons in their CYP2D6 genotype. Study completed 400 persons, 100 patients with allergic diseases--62 with atopic asthma and 38 with allergic rhinitis and 300 healthy volunteers as a control group. The results of our study revealed a statistically significant predominance of extensive metabolizers among patients with allergic diseases in comparison to healthy volunteers. Relative risk (odds ratio) of development of allergic diseases was 1.85 times higher (p < 0.05), atopic asthma was 1.97 times higher (p < 0.05), allergic rhinitis 1.68 times higher (p > 0.05; NS) for persons with extensive CYP2D6 genotype. Our results represent some evidence for a possible relationship between extensive CYP2D6 genotype and the higher susceptibility to development of allergic diseases.
